The premier league and Masters will ensure there darlings (top 4/5 teams) remain at the top of the league and are as competitive as they have been for the last 30+ years.

The squad is not fixed/balanced yet and we’re probably all frustrated with the fullbacks situation, but stepping back a bit - the squad is younger, has better footballers and a lot of talent yet to mature - and we’re getting more youngsters out on loan to get game time with a variety of different clubs.

This does feel like quite a bit of progress to be fair.

Just feels there is an opportunity this season to maybe miss a step and do better than we thought we would be able to do, not saying there has not been progress on all fronts but if they had addressed the long standing squad issues we may be comfortably looking at Europe, it's still on but more difficult because we don't create enough mainly because we don't have attacking fullbacks.

I see where you are coming from but even with 2 or 3 signings we'd still only be maybes for europe, not guaranteed.

I'd rather we take our time and get long term solutions to fullback than take stop-gap players now in the hope of getting europe a season earlier.

This is something people are probably missing in the Moyes debate too, when we talk about ceilings. Quite happy to see him continue and see where he can take us over the next copule of years. But equally, 2-3 years under a safe pair of hands will give us a better understanding of what the new owners are about. Having Moyes in as a great opportunity to see how it develops with someone who has an abundance of experience and love for the club. Ideal way to bed them in and set some expectations, I feel.

It would be interesting to see how it would have gone if he had oversaw the Moshiri era and that big influx of cash that they threw at consectuive managers to spunk on awful plaers with no sell on value. Filter that through Moyes, even as a transitional manager, I am sure it would have panned out a bit better.

They’re doing a tremendous job.

It gives me more confidence in them than I already had to see that they’re not pushing the throttle based on how this season has gone.

We’re simply not that good. Better to stick to the long-term plan. If something good happens through overperformance, that’s found money and will help us out even more in the summer.
