Performances like that last night where we have a full squad to choose from apart from one player proves we’re nowhere near good enough

Textbook midtable team. If we can find some consistent form in the last stretch of games then great, but im not expecting europe.

And to be honest, the difference maker for me is our strikers. They're not good enough. Barry could be in time but at the moment hes not.

It's so frustrating isn't it.

By virtue of points and position we are right on the cusp, but every week when I think this is the week we will kick on and make it count we always fall flat.

Home form is atrocious and a real issue.

It's a shame really because I can't envisage the league being this tight again for a long time where it's just begging for a team to take it by the scruff of the neck and it's unlikely it's gonna be us.

Will likely be a very low points total needed for whatever type of Europe this season.

Still on but I'm not thinking about it as we are bound to tank at home.

An improved home form and we'd be fighting for champions league places.

This is fine though. The fact we've got our hopes up as high as "hopefully other teams remain a bit shit and we can sneak the conference" is still leaps and bounds above "hopefully other teams remain a bit shit and we can sneak 4th from bottom" is a huge credit to Moyes, the club and the players.

Thing is, that is certainly an improvement on a lot of recent seasons. During those relegation battles, we’d have been thankful for a season like this so it puts it into perspective. However, it is infuriating when you think we can push on and we follow a really good performance with a largely abject one. I suppose getting that consistency is the next stage which we need to aim for

It probably says a lot that after these games we're still sitting in what is likely to be a European place
