It’s just how modern football is at the moment.
Attacking players at the top clubs are picked more for how they press than what they do with the ball.
On the eye, Eze is a much better player than odergaard, but to a manager who’s all about structure Eze won’t get a look in.
They can afford to take a punt on a player for £60m and decided to hardly use them.
Arteta is so utterly obsessed with controlling every aspect and every minute of the game that he’s really starting to stifle his team.
Should be looking to blow wolves away there but instead they resorted to constant time wasting, killing the flow of the game and allowing wolves to have enough moments to get two goals.
I’m not a fan at all of the bottling stuff though. I think that’s a coin termed by crank social media fans and teams at the top always go through a tough period of the season.

Re: Today's Football 2025-26
regardless of the wolves result i still think arsenal will still win the league but only just
city shouldnt even be playing and buying players right now with the 130 charges impending on them and for some reason a delayed decision is making a mockery of the judicial system within football
city can fuck off
it would be great to see a different team to win the prem - i dont care if its not free flowing high full on press
would like to see arteta win the league

Re: Today's Football 2025-26
I just think Arsenal would be the most disappointing side to win it possibly ever. As much as I don't rate the shite side that won, at least they had one player performing as the best in the league with Salah last season. Arsenal's top scorer has 8 goals. Bruno Guimaraes has 9. DCL has 10.
It's one thing to be good defensively but it's not like they're 1st time Mourinho at Chelsea levels defensively and even they had Lampard and Drogba at the other end
Saka, Martinelli, Eze, Trossard, Madueke, Odegaard, Gyokeres... Give them a season review individually and I doubt any get higher than a 6/10.
---
Man City wouldn't be great winners either but at least they're a team that can capture the imagination and don't spend 90 minutes trying to kill the game at every opportunity.

Arsenal not even getting some bonus snide points for a fake argument between team mates to waste some time??Shogun wrote: ↑Thu Feb 19, 2026 10:23 am I just think Arsenal would be the most disappointing side to win it possibly ever. Sacking Dyche has made them genuine contenders for Europa now. God that would be horrible.

Theory posed on the Guardian podcast...Man City win it (then coincidentally) they finally rule on all those charges against them and they deduct them enough points to hand Arsenal the win?
Arsenal win it with an * next to their name?

Re: Today's Football 2025-26
With how PL teams have done so far in European competitions, it's really hard to gauge form if form in Europe is any guide at all to what might happen in the remainder of the PL.
