Newcastle v Everton
Re: Newcastle v Everton
get branthwaite back in the centre of defence FFS....Patto in at right back...garner in CM with gueye and irebounam...george up front
it's time to make changes moyesy otherwise the the season will peter out to a nothing season again...
PS...they are up for this after their recent league results..."easy 3 points" they' think...

I’d love to see that too. I’ve just got a feeling that Alcaraz and Barry could be really effective if they played fairly close together.

Re: Newcastle v Everton
Me neither. Not sure if it's because we're safe or won't qualify for Europe or the tedious left to right football with no end product with two lousy strikers up front who can't hit a barn door between them.

Heart says our away form continues.
Head says we will employ square pegs in round holes and get blown away.

Re: Newcastle v Everton
Newcastle will struggle to break us down if we low block, so it'll be 4 CBs at the back, long balls to Barry and George on the wing for attempts to counter.
Everyone will hate the game plan but it'll also be the right one as it's exactly the set up they struggle to break down.

Sorry to pull you up on this Andy but by counter, you actually meant win a corner and hope for the best, right?AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 26, 2026 6:13 pm Newcastle will struggle to break us down if we low block, so it'll be 4 CBs at the back, long balls to Barry and George on the wing for attempts to counter.

Re: Newcastle v Everton
If we're going to out-tall them just go for it properly.
Pickford
O'Brien Keane, Tarkowski Branthwaite
Garner Tim
Dibling Rohl Armstrong
Barry
Joking but wow we are a tall squad.

A little mentioned but good point that.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 25, 2026 10:25 am Alcaraz is injured for a few weeks Moyes said, so wouldn't be available even if Moyes did want to play him.
I think it's safe to say we won't see Patterson start again this season, Moyes wants a new RB and he's not going to risk Patto doing a half decent job and the transfer committee refusing to buy him a new one.
Re: Newcastle v Everton
Which makes how utterly shite we are at corners all the more frustrating, FFS change it up from just pinging it under the crossbar
Re: Newcastle v Everton
Must have been 10-12 years since I last went to Newcastle, it's only a couple of hours from here and you used to be able to get away tickets no problem for it, now there's no chance, it's one of the downsides of the game being so popular now and having a brilliant away support. The last time we went we checked the Everton website the night before, saw there was still tickets available so bought 4 and picked them up at the ground, that would be unheard of these days. The ground's in a great location so there's plenty places to get food and a pint before the game as well.
Re: Newcastle v Everton
Yeah the match day experience is very good there. They've got Stack literally outside the ground with food vendors, love music, pre game entertainment. You can park in multiple places for a fairly low fee that are a 15 - 20 mins walk to the ground, or if you know the area free places just outside the centre. Multiple metro stations within walking distance of the ground including one at the ground.Gash wrote: ↑Fri Feb 27, 2026 10:01 am Must have been 10-12 years since I last went to Newcastle, it's only a couple of hours from here and you used to be able to get away tickets no problem for it, now there's no chance, it's one of the downsides of the game being so popular now and having a brilliant away support. I park at the college and it's £5 I think, 15 mins walk to the ground... Sounds horrific getting to and from the Hill Dickinson in comparison.
Obviously though you're surrounded by Geordies so you have to take the sour with the sweet
