That's an absolutely ridiculous save.
In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream.

The way the ball twats off the bar makes it look even better. 🙂

It’s not just that he got to it, it’s how he had the strength and technique to tip it onto the bar.

What an incredible goalkeeper he is.

Look at the reaction from the players and the fans behind the goal.

They know they’ve seen something they can’t comprehend.

It's absolutely stunning, the speed of his reaction to the shot and getting a strong hand on to it is something that's hard to really understand. I think most keepers don't even move as that flies past them in to the net, it's an insane save.

Tonali is so shocked that his body has automatically gone into a knee slide for the celebration

I find myself enjoying his saves, reactions and antics almost more than anything else when I watch our games. He’s a mad bastard and he’s ours.

Not that is matters but I'm pretty sure he's telling the lads to "focus!".

Seeing a lot of Newcastle fans saying that’s the best save they’ve ever seen live which tells you how good it was for them to admit that.

Mine was de gea from that Oviedo shot.

I was at old Trafford that day and could not believe he saved that.

I saw a clip of it the other day and didn’t realise that de gea was halfway on the floor when he hit it as well.

I may or may not have rage bated all the Geordies I know by asking on Facebook if they still think Pickford's arms are too short or actually too long.

They're being weirdly quiet. Can't understand why 🤣

A lot of the lists of saves of the season or the decade or whatever contain saves that aren't actually that remarkable or impressive, if you've played football to an even semi-decent level. A lot of the time they involve a bit of luck on a keeper's part that the ball hits an outstretched foot, or that the striker has put the ball too close to the keeper. Still excellent saves like but often a touch over-rated.

I think Pickford's save yesterday is genuinely an all-timer. The combination of reactions, athleticism and co-ordination was scary. If I hadn't watched it and you told me it was AI, I'd believe you.

It's rare that there appears to be across the board praise from pundits for it

I wonder who the first boring media personality will be to call it overrated

Big money on Barry glendenning or Barney Ronay on the guardian podcast tomorrow.
