Here's an interesting stat for you all...

Only one time in the past 10 seasons has a team in the relegation zone at the halfway point or after changed their manager and survived.

That was Dyche when he took over from Lampard.

As much as everyone hates him, that's quite an impressive stat.

To balance that out though that season was the fewest points ever needed to survive in the Premier League

Must have been just before that mark as the video goes through the last 10 seasons... Not sure the exact number but can't imagine it was much before tbh

Ah yeah 1 point ahead of Ipswich who were 18th apparently. Shows just how badly he was doing that season considering how cut adrift the bottom 3 ended up.

Yeah that video goes in to the probability of changing manager when in or out of the relegation zone, and it does make a difference.

However the number of games a new manager has seems to be more important, so the earlier you replace the higher chance of staying up.

Based on the video it's statistically more likely West Ham stay up than Forest or Spurs, which I think is pretty interesting.

My money is on Neal Maupay. He was an unused sub and Dyche started with Demarai Gray up front and subbed him off for Ellis Simms.

The fact he put "almost" at the end of that sentence makes me think he's probably talking bollocks. Probably players saying they're injured and he doesn't believe them.

I don't think he was particularly a bad manager, just limited but pretty much what we needed that season with the squad we had.
