25-26 Relegation Thread

Post

Seems like we're getting to the point where this is now a big talking point. Going to assume Wolves and Burnley are down, so it's for the last spot. Looking at that then it's going to be very difficult for West Ham. However, they are in the best form of anyone. It's the fact they've got two of their home games against Arsenal and City which seems like a big mountain to climb. Then they've got us who have been flying away from home.

Ooof didn't realise West Ham's run in was that tough.

Not sure how those fixtures align with European games too, that could potentially be a big factor too.

Really hard to call right now.

Spurs v Forest next Sunday looks massive.
Even with the tough fixture list, West Ham just look like the best team down there by a distance. 4 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats in their last 9 matches says it all, that's top half form.
Leeds are stumbling a little. The fixture list isn't bad but could easily start to unravel.

All 4 teams drew at the weekend but it was terrible for Forest really.

I've been saying Leeds for about a month because it felt like their good run came too early and they didn't maintain it. Always felt Spurs would end up getting enough points to stay up, West Ham are playing much better and will likely stay up, and fancied Forest to nick a few close wins.

Looking at those fixtures though I think I'm changing my pick to Forest, a defeat at Spurs at the weekend would be devastating for them.

Things have stayed really static down there the last couple of games as they seem to mostly all be getting the same results. So a team scraping a couple of wins could be massive.

It's still one from 4 , equally wouldn't be surprised if it was all resolved in the next 4 games , or goes doenyto the last game ..

As difficult as it is to imagine after today, there might only be 1 point between the 4 of them after the next round of fixtures.

Maybe it's because i'd love it if they get relegated, but apart from Leeds at home, i can't see where Spurs are getting their next point

Wolves have put in some half decent performances the last couple of months but I wouldn't be relying on them beating Spurs tbh. They could if Spurs are as bad as they were this weekend but there's a reason Wolves are still bottom.
In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream.

So if Forest win the EL and get relegated we could have A team in the Championship playing the CL...

Leeds should be absolutely fine now. Wolves and Burnley at home. That's probably 6 points, at least 4 you'd imagine. 40 points with 4 other matches to play with? Hard to imagine them doing down.

Forest Burnley at home this week. 36 points. You would say after that those are tough fixtures and I don't think they're playing brilliantly. Would back them to pick up the points though. Let's say at worst 39 points.

West Ham have tough fixtures but they've fallen well. Palace on a Monday night after they've played Fiorentina midweek in the second leg and they only care about Europe anyway now. Everton and Arsenal are both tough but at home they'll back themselves with how they're playing. Brentford away is tough. Then they end possibly against two teams that are going to have nothing to play for by the time those fixtures come about. I think they're probably looking at 39 points there if not more.

Can Spurs get 9 points from their last 6 fixtures? I just can't see it. You don't go 14 matches without a win and then win 3/6 of your last games and that might not be enough anyway. I think they're gone.
