Pickford has been brilliant this season and most of the time for us but is liable to a brain fart every now and then and yesterday was a prime example he was never getting to that cross anyway on to the next game

Disagree with the disagrees - esp Brap who called it a ‘howler’.

He got to it and altered the trajectory. The fact that it still went to opposition is not great, but it’s not even in the same postcode as a howler. He’d have to miss it and miss it by miles for it to be a howler. He got there. And there were at least three other people at fault for that goal.

Its mad, because watching the goal again, i can not believe that anyone would think it was correct decision to fly towards the ball. Its a howler.

I genuinely don’t understand that opinion. He thought he could get to it. He did.

Where’s the howler?

In my eyes, he doesnt get to it? He doesnt change the ball direction, he races out and misses the ball pretty much.

I just dont see why he dives out? Its a mistake 🤷

Mistake - yes. But he did reach it, just couldn’t get enough on it to change much - but howler? Not for me.

If you come for that type of delivery you have to get to the ball and push it away or catch it, or you stay and try to save the header/cross. He did neither unfortunately.

Thats the howler. It was a really poor decision and the second time this season that he's tried to come for a cross and been left in no man's land and we've conceded as a result.

Cant fault him for so many other parts of his game, the last few games have shown how ridiculous he is, but he's not immune to mistakes and this situation is an area of weakness for him.

He's a coward when it comes to crosses as bad as Howard was

Coming for crosses has always been his Achilles heel but like he deserves all the praise he gets for some of his saves he also deserves to be criticised for yesterday. He came for it and barely got a touch on it, certainly not enough to make a difference and by coming and missing it he left his goal completely exposed.

Nah. On another day that touch makes the forward miss and everyone spunks themselves silly over a brilliant fingertip save.

It was the wrong decision (in hindsight) but it was still not a howler in my book.
