Fancy sharing your research?4evablu wrote: ↑Mon Jan 26, 2026 4:33 pm i'm not in denial at all simple facts that can be researched..which i have done...i never stated "we were in good financial health"
The comments were "As the club put itself on the verge of complete financial collapse"...which it actually didn't as the running costs were being met from moshiri and and other sources....if you look deep into it you will see where these "other sources" were....
However, the simple fact was we weren't and didn't....
James Garner

Re: James Garner
Just noticed him shushing someone in the Newcastle end after Branthwaite scored. I'm on board now!
Tbh to him he's had an excellent season and been our most consistent performer by a mile.

Re: James Garner
Can't see him going to the WC but he deserves the call-up. He's been better than Alex Scott from Bournemouth this season. Anderson and Wharton are better but the former has struggled this season under 15 different managers.

Re: James Garner
Certainly deserves it , some of Tuchel selections have been awful, RLC . Problem is he selects players and then doesn't give them minutes , just takes a look at them training. Hope he gets a fair amount of game time....

Re: James Garner
Fair play to him.
He’s hit a level of performance this season that I didn’t know he had in him.
His versatility will be vital in a tournament.

Good for him. Don’t rate him but absolutely can’t begrudge someone feeling as proud of themselves as he will feel right now.

Re: James Garner
Yeah, he’s had a step up this season and I’m glad that consistency he’s shown has been recognised as that’s what a call up should at least in part be based on.
Think he has had a better season than most of those he’s been competing against, although it might be a season too late to actually get the nod for the final squad.
Who’d have guessed after all the noise about Grealish and a couple of the others it’d be Garner who got the call up.

Made up for him, well deserved, never understood the vitriolic posts calling him a “sideways playing kopite crab” also goes to show other prospective signings that even at Everton you can get into the England squad as an outfield player if you put the effort in .
Re: James Garner
Even if he could be more progressive with his passing his defensive work is excellent. Positionally he's really good and puts in loads of important last ditch tackles and interceptions.
I think some of the hatred comes from the fact he is technically good and probably should be more of a deep lying playmaker, but if you take away that expectation he's a very good defensive midfielder.
Maybe an England cap might give him a bit of extra belief to kick on more with his confidence to dictate play more, but even if not he's a very consistent and valuable member of the team.
