David Moyes
Re: David Moyes
This is what he does.
Trusted lieutenants who train hard.
It costs plenty of points but wins even more.
It imposes a ceiling on your league position unless you’re lucky but I don’t really care about ceilings right now based on where we’ve been.

Re: David Moyes
Expressed that really well. All my reservations about Moyes, all of them, were about that ceiling. It's real and it's horrible
But I took my eye off the ball and had momentarily forgot what the "basement" was like. Wed been circling the drain and he has fucking zero truck with that.
Let's ride the Conference roller coaster with him for a few years and have some boss fucking, mad, away days

Re: David Moyes
Doing an exceptional job. One of the managers of the season. No right to be anywhere near 7th/8th with this squad.
Re: David Moyes
We had only KDH today who was not here last season and we pretty much outplayed a Chelsea team. Unthinkable that.

Re: David Moyes
Remarkable how quiet this thread is after battering Chelsea, and deserving at least a point away at the soon-to-be Champions.
Re: David Moyes
You can play conservative football and win the league, just look at the top of the table right now. The ceiling in the 2000's was his zero net spend over his time with us. I am very open minded to seeing where he takes us, if we do hit a glass ceiling, fair enough but only after he has a full squad and some money behind him for the next couple of seasons.
Re: David Moyes
I'm just disappointed that Masters and the EPL appear now to be delegating responsibilities when it comes to governance and compliance.Bluedylan1 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2026 11:48 am Remarkable how quiet this thread is after battering Chelsea, and deserving at least a point away at the soon-to-be Champions.
They left it up to Moyes to dock Chelsea 3 points if he saw fit to do so.

I hope he gets another chance to manage us in Europe and at the HDS, imagine playing some of Europes elite on the waterfront on a beautiful Autumn evening, the atmosphere will be incredible.
No one else could have really got us in this position with this squad.

Re: David Moyes
Yeah, obviously I am a reactive fan
But stepping back and having a look, it's unbelievable.
The last 5 years we have been in a state of panic all the way to may, about relegation. It's been very difficult and overwhelming.
How mad is it that right now, we are checking out the fixtures and results of those in 4th, 5th and 6th instead.
Moyes really did bring that pride back to the club.

Re: David Moyes
Saw an interesting comment by Cascarino. He doesn’t think either Barry or Beto are the solution for us. But, between August and the beginning of December, they’d 1 Prem goal between them. Since then, they have 11. That’s quite the turn around and, to him, is down of the work being done by the manager and coaches (and the players).
Mad to think that good managers and coaches can improve players. As someone pointed out earlier, apart from KDH, all those players were available to Dyche. What a job Moyes has done.

Re: David Moyes
I would give praise to Moyes for the work he has done.
However the last time I did that was in December and then we went on a poor run of form and dropped points at home.
So…#MoyesOut

Re: David Moyes
Hes done amazing but we did sign a load of players who cant get in our team. That disconnect between manager snd recruitment team (or even poor recruitment from the lot of them) cant continue going forward. If we end up with another selection of players the manager doesn't want to use then something would have to change
