Finally the club is being run as a real business by real business people, who have "invested a shit ton of money to save us from oblivion" which is what we have all been crying out to happen for the last 10 years and if that means having to pay another £3-4 a game and it means we can see some world class players and win something rather than rummaging around the bargain bin then I don't see a huge issue with that.
The money brought in with the ticket rises wouldn’t be enough to get a championship standard player.

It’s greed. There’s no need for it. They have enough money and the club is bringing enough money in to not have to raise ticket prices.

£3 per game per fan (3 times 50,000 times 19 = £2.85m) works out at a players wages at £54k (£2.85m/52)
£4 a game is a £76k wage.

I’d be surprised if any world class players are on that money.

Haven’t they also reduced the amount of seats in the family stand meaning the rise for people in those seats could be very sizeable.

They’re American billionaires. All they care about is their profit margins. Let’s not pretend otherwise.

The rise in ticket prices will have next to no impact on the club.

It’s not about a direct increase in ticket prices turning into player wages, it’s small gains across the whole club. Ticketing, sponsorship, hospitality, better commercial deals, smarter recruitment, reducing waste, all of it adds up.

We want a new stadium, a better squad, smarter decisions and to actually compete again. That only happens by improving every part of the business, and ticket prices are part of that.

We’ve had years of outgoing player sales effectively funding the club instead of helping us improve the squad. I assume the aim now is to change that, so when we do sell a player for profit, more of it can actually go back into transfers instead of covering debt, running costs, or plugging other holes.

Profit obviously matters to them too, but if we’re going to force a direct line between ticket prices and wages, you could do the same with dividends, executive pay, or any other way money comes out of the club, and it still wouldn’t be a clean 1:1 link.

Greed would be selling Goodison Park to property developers, not controlling income against operating costs.

The womens team play there because TFG didn't want to fund Moshiri's redevelopment plan - which was basically a charitable donation to the area.

If the women don't start getting crowds that cover the cost of upkeep, you can almost guarantee that they will be selling Goodison to property developers.

Is it really up for discussion? Foreign businessmen owners trying to make as much money as possible from their investment.

Shocking!
