Re: The race for... Europe?
Still in the mix, but feels like we fumbled our big chance here. Also minus Branthwaite and maybe Beto if a concussion just makes us weaker going forward with the remaining games.

Re: The race for... Europe?
Needed to at least draw, now Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford are all above us.
I can't believe we live in a reality where Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford are all in the top half of the table this late into a season.

Majorly hard now.
Can't see it myself.
The manner in which we lost also is too much of a body blow.
No Branthwaite possibly now and Beto.
We're shagged.
Still been a season of improvement though.

We are still a win and someone losing a game for Europe, it's far from done but west ham has become a bigger game

Jesus Christ man, turn your wifi off and pour yourself a fucking drink would you!
Re: The race for... Europe?
If Villa finish 5th and win the Europa League then 6th will be champions league. Not that inconceivable at the minute.

Re: The race for... Europe?
Will it? It didn't sound right but listening to that football ramble podcast the other day they'd said Villa would have to finish out of top 5 for it to be 6th becoming a CL place?
I had been assuming 6th was a CL place until then IF Villa won the EL that is.
Still, we'd probably have to go on some run to do that. Including maybe winning even against Man City given the form of some the teams around us like Bournemouth, Brighton and also Brentford.
Re: The race for... Europe?
If us qualifying for any Europe comes down to Villa winning the EL then the conflict @CannockPricey will face will be unreal.

If Villa finish outside the top four, the Premier League will have six teams in the Champions League:
The top four
Villa as Europa League winners
The EPS
Villa's precise final position would decide the Premier League's total European allocation.
If they finish fifth, the EPS passes to the Premier League's sixth-placed team.
The Premier League would surrender a place in the Europa League. Overall, England would still have eight European places.

It's been a bad enough day. This is like asking me "who's your favourite war criminal?"
In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream.
