I’d extend him by a couple of years. Barry is unplayed and looks finished at the club. Extend Beto to take the pressure off whoever we bring in this summer.
I definitely wouldn't tbh. We need to sell while we can get something for him... Right now we'd probably be able to bring in £15m - £20m due to his recent purple patch.
I don't think Barry is a lost cause, think his head's gone a bit but it's salvageable. However he's got a lot to prove and should be understudy to a competent striker next season.
I just don't see the point in keeping Beto around, we all know he's completely shite for 2/3 of a season. He'll occasionally go on a little run of being decent but that's only when you play him week in week out (and even then mostly he's awful). We aren't going to do that next season so he just needs to be sold while he's worth something.

Hes absolutely miles ahead of barry. Be a crazy gamble to keep barry and get rid of beto. We'd likely be in the same position of bringing on someone who contributes zero most weeks
He may be rubbish for 2 thirds of a season. But as long as he doesnt play 100% of the season that can be accounted for.
If we had a better striker that needed to come off yesterday and it was Beto coming on - we would at least guarantee that there'd be energy there and someone capable of making a nuisance of themselves. I reckon that'd be enough for half a dozen goals from him over the year. Which is fine if you have an actual main striker getting into double figures
If it’s a toss up between Beto or Barry (both hopefully as back up), I’d keep Beto all day long. At least he looks like scoring (sometimes) and generally makes more of a nuisance of himself when he is on the pitch.

Who's buying Barry though? We'd have to loan him out which would reduce our spending power in the summer to buy a proper ST.
I'd rather the £15m - £20m more to spend on a proper striker. May well be the difference between bringing in a £40m-£50m ready to go striker and another £25m Barry who may or may not be absolute turd.

Thankfully not my problem
It’s just in my view based on what we’ve seen, Beto is far more use to us than Barry. If a player can’t be arsed to at least put himself about in a game with an atmosphere like the derby, he’s less than useless anyway.
We cant keep barry as our second striker cos hes so bad no one wants him. What happens if our 1 good striker gets injured or for the 20 minutes at the end of most games when we sub barry on

You can though if we can sell Beto for £15m - £20m and only loan Barry out.
I'd rather a really good first choice and worry about what happens when they're out if and when that happens, than being limited in who we bring in as the main guy.
It's not like you can rely on Beto to come in and be adequate backup anyway because he's so bad for most of the season.
But as I've said in the other thread, I'd sell either... I'm really not arsed providing one goes and it gives us an extra wedge to spend on a starting competent striker.

Id rather we loan barry out than have him as backup. Financially it might even be wiser to loan him and hope we find a league where he does enough to get us decent money.

Just making the budget for a proper striker considerably smaller by doing that though. I just want a reliable goal threat who can do a semi decent job of holding it up. Splash as much cash as we can on that as it'd transform us as a team.

Ultimately we are a bit fucked because we probably need barry out and 2 in but we probably cant afford that
Really hope its not delap. Not sure how much of an upgrade on beto hed be for an extra 20m and double the wages. Not sure barry was an upgrade on chermiti either
