I’m sure a decent lawyer could sue PGMOL for our loss of earnings from lack of Champions League footballblueToffee wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2026 3:38 pm
We did it! Got the delayed penalty against Man City...let's call everyone back...right?
You do look at all this stuff this season and it's starting to grate more and more as it's effects are being compacted now. Just a handful more points from some of these denied penalties and we'd likely be in pole position for Europe.
It makes a big difference to get the rub of the green with these decisions.
Anyhow. Woot, we did it.

Re: VAR and is there a way to fix it?
They apologise like its just some random mistake or misunderstanding rather than its utterly baffling and goes against what everyone thinks the rules are. Its like we are in the twilight zone at this point. Some of them even just in recent weeks have been utterly crazy. The 1 we didnt get against West ham. The 1 west ham didnt get against Bournemouth or Brentford the week after. This utd goal. Thats before we even go into the 8 fouls they now ignore at set pieces until they randomly pick 1 as a foul every couple of months
They've genuinely just completely lost their minds at this point. You show me some of them clips and id bet my life on certain decisions and they they do the opposite telling a story about new made up rules
If they were competent youd think it was criminal

Just seen it myself now.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2026 7:08 pm Just seen the utd handball goal..... what the absolute fuck. He pretty much catches it.

I just don't know what to say anymore.
How can anyone with even the slightest knowledge of the game say that's not a blatant handball.
That is just unbelievable
Re: VAR and is there a way to fix it?
Something has to be done about this now, this is ludicrous, it's so bad it can't be true.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2026 7:39 pm They apologise like its just some random mistake or misunderstanding rather than its utterly baffling and goes against what everyone thinks the rules are. It's like they're going out of their way to look utterly stupid and incompetent.
How can anybody defend them after what's gone on the last few weeks

Why are the referees not having to explain these decisions publicly??
Why are they still being hired weekly after such blatant errors??
Re: VAR and is there a way to fix it?
And that's the big problem Liz, there's no accountability for them.Audrey Horne wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2026 7:56 pm Exactly it's almost like oooops us again!!!!

He's looked at that monitor and he's seen what we have seen.
He needs to explain to us why he's telling us black is white, or if not him then his boss Webb.
They are an absolute joke

Re: VAR and is there a way to fix it?
Getting so tired of this constant VAR bullshit.
Arsenal with another huge decision in their favour.
Either they're scared to make a decision against the bigger teams, incompetent, or you put your tin foil hat on and think there is more to it.

Re: VAR and is there a way to fix it?
So apparently the ref in the United match was right?
Like it was wrong to miss the actual handball but once the ball went to Cunha then that was the end of it?
If Mbeumo scored then they should have VAR'd but once the ball went to someone else then VAR don't get involved?

Re: VAR and is there a way to fix it?
Says who? Thought VAR's whole thing was reviewing everything in a phase of play and I doubt you could call that a different phase?Shogun wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2026 8:49 pm So apparently the ref in the United match was right?

Re: VAR and is there a way to fix it?
Apparently the rule is if it's 'accidental' handball then it only gets disallowed by VAR if the player committing the handball scores, otherwise it's not to be overruled apparently.blueToffee wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2026 8:51 pm Says who? Re: VAR and is there a way to fix it?
I think its more if it just brushes someone's hand and they go on to score thats handball regardless. I dont think its if someone catches it thats accidental and so long as he passes it its okay.
Its more no grey areas for goalscorers not such leeway for the assist.
Re: VAR and is there a way to fix it?
The pgmo have come out and said it should have been disallowed.
They said the referee made a misjudgement.

Re: VAR and is there a way to fix it?
Honestly, it just all feels like they're making it up based on vibes at this point.
I mean the vast majority of handballs are likely accidental, so if that's true they're saying if you're an attacker an accidental handball can often be fine, but if you're a defender an accidental handball is often totally bad and results in a penalty.
