You demanded we play Dixon dobbin and simms. Generally speaking if we never see them it's because they are more crap than the crap we desperately want out of the team. Ive seen dibling and barry though and neither are good enough
Young with time on their side to improve however.

Barry's been shite but I haven't seen enough of a sample size with Dibling to suggest he is also.

A better coach gets more out of these players no?

I dont think dibling is ready and he isnt what we needed regardless. He was a foolish buy. Yes hes got time on his side but im not sure he ever becomes worth the time and money we will have to invest

Barry is shite though. We agree there

They're young lads. They might not be good enough, yet.

However it doesn't change the fact that for us to kick on next season we either integrate these lads into the side to see if they are up to it or we buy another set of players and hope we recruit better.

The current crop of 15-16 aren't good enough to progress out of mid table.

I think they might not be good enough ever. Id be surprised if half of them are still here when the window shuts.

We do this all the time blaming managers for not playing youngsters over the shite in the team. How many have they got wrong though?? O brien is probably about it in recent years

Also even beyond if they are good enough if some of them cant play how the manager wants them to play how can he play them?? I think that kind of goes to the scatter gun approach to the window.

I think Dibling showed at Southampton that he is, in fact, good enough. He was never going to be first 11 straight off the bat with Ndiaye and Grealish, but he showed more there than we know McNeil has to offer. Moyes' decision to play McNeil and Rohl ahead of him in that position is down to him as a manager - not saying it's right or wrong, but I definitely feel it's to do with defensive contribution. Other managers don't demand as much, but Moyes expects all of his outfield players to put a defensive shift in, track back etc.

Barry is more worrying and puzzling to me, though. In a number of games he really looked like he couldn't be arsed, yet Moyes was using him anyway. Could't tell you why. I actually thought he looked alright when he first came, better contribution all round than Beto...but as time went on, when you'd hope a player would get better as they got used to the league, he seemed to go the opposite way. The lack of any improvement, and the apparent disinterest at times, make me think he might just be a dud who isn't cut out for this level - whether that be technical ability or his mentality.

TL;DR I think Dibling deserves some time and a chance. Barry is on thin ice - if he stays needs to come out the gate fast and show us something else.

I agree its down to his defensive contribution but thats probably why he should never have been signed by us. We should have signed a young winger with pace, directness and who defends better. That fits in with what we needed as well as being part of a long term plan. We signed players who dont have a pathway because their styles aren't right for our needs

Dibling will get time because weve no other choice but it was an odd signing. George is the type We should have bought. I can see why people point the finger at moyes for not playing him

I dont think barry doesn't care. I think his alround game is just really bad. He doesn't take up the right positions or make the right decisions nor is he particularly good technically. He looks years behind his age

What do you want to talk about? Theres only about 4 everton conversations on the whole site

Burnley
New signings
Old signings
Pickford

Start something new.

What about would you rather be a striker with neville Southalls shooting or a keeper with lukakus handling?

Would you rather fight 1 adrian heath sized Duncan fergusons or 2 Duncan ferguson sized adrian heaths?

Or, now hear me out because this might sound crazy, you[And others] don't need to say anything. If theres no news, theres no need to engage for the sake of it.

🗞️Everton have knocked back a proposal for West Ham’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Strasbourg’s Guela Doue has been watched closely but no approach has been made.
