Interesting that there's none of the usual references to a "record deal" or similar, so we must have taken a hit of some sort relative to the old Stake deal.

Well worth it.

Just read on the Independents site that both the shirt sponsor and the front of shirt sponsor are both up 30% on previous deals

Am i reading this wrong, but essentially Stake and CMC are paying us the same?

Everton have signed a lucrative sponsorship agreement with financial services firm CMC Markets that could take their earnings from their shirt deals to more than £20m a year.

CMC Markets will become Everton’s shirt sponsor in a multi-year partnership that will earn the Merseyside club around 30 percent more than their previous deal.

Everton’s new sleeve deal, with their previous front-of-shirt sponsor Stake, is also around 30 percent bigger than before, giving a boost to manager David Moyes as he is looking to strengthen his team.

Pretty sure I saw Joyce reporting both CMC and Stake are worth a combined 25m a year.

Still sad to see Stake on the shirt.

Even if you accept that gambling companies by nature are scummy (even the ones that pretend they're not like Paddy Power), Stake are dodgy to the extent they're banned from operating in the UK due to their practises.

Removing gambling sponsors from the front of the shirt should have been an opportunity to kick them out of football clubs entirely and in a world where football clubs and their owners still had a soul then that would happen. But no. Let's just stick it on the sleeve because they're still the highest bidders.

Obviously a club like Everton is a business but stuff like this leaves a sour taste.

Didn’t realise Stake were banned from operating in the uk. Makes more sense why they paid us so much to have a presence here and makes less sense why we would want them.

You are.

the CMC deal is 30% more than the Stake deal is for the front of shirt
The Stake sleeve deal is 30% more than the Christopher Ward sleeve deal

It stinks. Was looking forward to a jersey without a betting company on it and now we have two. Trading stocks and shares is equally destructive. Just look at what that orange thing is at in the States.

There's a world of difference:

CMC Markets are a tightly regulated UK entity, required to report in regularly to bodies such as the FCA , are required to publish (a degree of) corporate transparency through Companies House, and their FTSE 250 listing requires additional oversight. Customers who are wronged are protected by financial redress schemes.

Stake are an reckless cowboy fly-by-night operation, who have failed to meet regulatory requirements in multiple countries around the world, have a history of compliance failures, and have a business model firmly entrenched in the opaqueness of crypto. Customers who are wronged are advised to go fuck themselves.

CMC I'm sure are reputable. The point is trading stocks and shares is just another form of gambling and I'd rather we weren't associated with it.
