Re: Brennan Johnson
Not sure on the swappsies, but if it means I don't have to watch McNeill pretending to run back to help out I'll take it at the moment.
We are down there at the bottom of the barrel scraping away.

Scored against us at Goodison, hasn't he? When Gray equalised in the last minute?

Re: Brennan Johnson
Biggest issue here is Davey Moyes , and the RB situation
As doesn't matter who we have , a flying winger, Dibbling , or prime Messi , if we don't solve it

Re: Brennan Johnson
He was brilliant for forest tbh.
Running, crossing, scoring or getting shots off.
Re: Brennan Johnson
Hopefully he improves us then, sounds at least a better option and might stop Moyes from throwing Rohl and Armstrong out there? Does he play right or left generally? Would like to see Ndiaye back on the left if he's stoppingAudrey Horne wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2026 3:59 pm He was brilliant for forest tbh.

Re: Brennan Johnson
Such an odd situation still, but I guess it's worth a roll of the dice..? Maybe.
The downsides for me are:
- McNeil's time was almost done anyhow and are we just saddling ourselves with another expensive wage for a different type of ineffective player? If he comes in and does nothing then we're just extending the McNeil problem and giving it a different name.
- He's been absolutely anonymous/poor whenever I've seen him of late. What worries me is that there is no clear reason why. Is he just another player who got to a level and has fallen out of love with football or something? Did he not settle? Is he out every night or something?
- Time away from Dibling is also a bit of a concern, as we really do have to give playing time to this season otherwise we're just flushing money away there too.
The upsides are more obvious if we can help him turn around his form.
I would have been 100% against it had we had to pay any sort of decent fee for him, the "free" part of it does at least give some latitude.
Wait and see I guess on this one and hope we can help him get back to better form.

Re: Brennan Johnson
Quick and scores goals.
Can't take a man on for love nor money.
Loves to cut in from the right rather than hug the touchline, scores his goals from doing this and getting shots off, or arriving in the box from build up on the left to slot home.
If used to his strengths he'll help us get up the pitch quickly, and score goals from the right side which we badly need.
If used as a touchline hugger with JOB behind him he'll be about as useless as a chocolate Dwight McNeil

Yep, not sure I remember what that looks like on a player at Everton when playing right wing... Heady times ahead!Bluebridge wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2026 4:10 pm Does he have a right foot that’s not just for standing on?

Re: Brennan Johnson
The assumption is he will be looking for substantially more in wages than Dwight was on. Apart from that I can’t see the downside for us. It is a weird one from Palace.
