He never does has much to say pre season, my first ever post on here back in July or August 2008 was something like 'glad he's still alive' and it was in reference to him making his first comments since the end of the season.

Maybe he's delighted and has no reason to speak as usually doing so is to put pressure on the board to give him players.

Think people are just randomly drawing conclusions over nothing tbh.

He's either fuming, jumping for joy or anywhere in-between.

Surely you aren’t saying this is normal behaviour to not hold post match press conferences, or to tell local and national press that they will not hear a word from the manager this pre season so don’t ask?

Don’t think anyone has told local and national press that they will not hear a word from the manager so don’t ask have they?

No, I'm saying it's normal behaviour for him to be constantly doing post and pre match interviews complaining about the lack of transfer activity, and trying put pressure on the board to give him some players.

The fact he isn't would suggest he's happy with things rather than the opposite.

However he could be anywhere on the scale of absolutely seething to quietly tugging himself off... It's pointless speculating on it.

I hope he's seething, and I hope a man of his integrity does the right thing and walks as a matter of principle

What principle would that be ? Not sure I would say he is either morally or duty bound to resign, why would he ?

Dunno if it’s just me but it feels impossible to have a conversation on this website these days.

If I said to one of my mates - ey Moyes hasn’t said anything all pre season bet he’s sulking

There is no way on the planet they would say - no actually it means he’s happy?

Just impossible to discuss anything without verified sources or you are pegged as a mad tin hatter, or someone argues against you being needlessly contrarian (says me).

Exhausting tbh.

Hold on, are you saying a conversation is something where the other person only agrees with you and can't offer a different point of view?

Surely the point of a conversation is you express an opinion and someone else either agrees or disagrees?

Yeah, it’s not normal for a manager to be this quiet during pre season.

Doesn’t mean there’s anything to it, but it is weird.

Re: David Moyes

He’s got a reason to be sulky. The squad is clearly being built with eyes on a future that potentially doesn’t involve him.

With that said, he’s running into many of the same self-imposed problems that marred periods of his first spell. It’s up to him to show growth and an ability to win tough fixtures that doesn’t appear to be forthcoming.

Grateful for what he’s done here but if he’s moving on at the end of the season, he’ll have nobody to blame but himself. He doesn’t have the track record to justify the club pushing their chips in for ready-now players across the board, all he’s won is the easiest European cup

And he is 100% the reason we don’t have a right back. Total fusspot about who he’ll let play in his back four. Norton-Cuffy should be here already. Not sure he’s great like but he’s a super athlete who actually plays the position, which has him ahead of O’Brien and Rohl for full time work.

Feel like the club is quiet generally, don't know if it's the change in ownership or what, think we are so used to Moshiri chatting shit to Jim White or Dyche chatting bollocks, feels quite nice to have the drama. Sure we'll hear enough soon enough and be back to hoping Moyes and everyone else shuts up

Not sure Moyes has ever shied away from calling out boards when he wants to move faster or wants more control over buying players. Even just by leaked information to favoured press people. What makes people think he's shying away from it now?

Re: David Moyes

Like I've said previously, more than him sulking, I feel like someone above him has said ''no press conferences in pre-season, while we're trying to buy players and improve the squad''.

He definitely made it harder for the transfer bods last summer by slagging them off every few days in the press. I reckon it's a club policy rather than Moyes sulking.
