He’s a great player and was great last season before his injury which coincided with a decline in results for us.

However the club should be planning the squad without him anyway, George and Johnson are in so let’s try and build to their strengths.

Grealish doesn’t. Theoretically, lots of people should’ve watched him with City and should understand that his first touch and close control are an absolute joke. I have never seen a better player at retaining the ball.

At city he was playing with players with a similar level of technique like Bernardo Silva, Foden, De Bruyne, Mahrez etc so it wouldn’t stand out in the same way

Grealish is an undoubtedly brilliant player, but he's also a bit of an odd one for the modern game. He's a wide player without any pace, and his goal contributions are very low for a player in his position.

Technically he's world class, but he lacks the pace and athleticism for the Premier League as a wide man.

He'd be better suited to the 10, but again his lack of athleticism holds him back, as these days that role demands a lot of quick pressing which he probably can't do well enough.

I think if he went to a different league, maybe Seria A or La Liga he'd tear it up, because his technical ability would shine in a division that demanded less athleticism.

He could probably go to a top team in a foreign league and win trophies, and whilst that's not to say he's not good enough for the premier league, I just think the pace and athleticism of the league has made him a bit of a weird fit as he approaches the twilight of his career.

Ofcourse we should sign Grealish. We should have done everything possible to do that. He is such a player. Wont loose the ball - makes a lot of space for others and was very much the reason for Ndiaye and KDHs good performances last year.

He loves the Club, the fans and the players. Its a no-brainer!

I'd prefer an outball that actually gives us an avenue to move up the pitch myself. Some pace, movement and goal threat. You know, like actual football teams do.

If we're aiming for free kicks on the halfway line to buy us some breathing space then great. Count me out.

Yep same, much rather we had someone able to burst upfield at pace to help us counter, as opposed to a free kick in our own half where we hump it long in to a crowded box, only to see it repelled and their fast winger hit us on the break.

I'd probably err on the side of not getting him back, because Moyes will play him every week and will play Ndiaye every week and so inevitably George and Dibling's progress will be stalled.

He makes things happen…opposition don’t like playing against him….his team mates would rather have him in the team than out of it…..his presence alone is enough to lift a team and the fans…..
Ask yourself this….would you rather he played in those games last season he missed or not….particularly those last 6 ?

Not bothered by his lack of pace at all.

His brilliance is holding the ball under just about any pressure and releasing the players around him.

He also puts a colossal shift in at both ends without it.

Speaks volumes that, in a treble-winning City side full of brilliant technical players, he was the man they’d pass to when they needed a breather because he could always be relied upon to hold the ball or win a foul.

Of course, when one of your options to release is Mykolenko, maybe it does dull your utility a bit. Think he’d be brilliant in front of a rabid Aznou. Maybe next summer when his contract expires and Moyes leaves for someone who might actually start the attacking option at LB.
