Re: The Friedkin Group
Interesting little tidbit from the Toffee TV Kinnear interview -
When Aznou signed he was bottom of the entire squad's physical stats in testing. He's now in the top half of the squad under the same metrics.

Finished the Toffee TV interview - don't bother with it unless you like Baz answering his own questions, just watch Giuilia's.

Re: The Friedkin Group
Apparently we are in the top 1/3 of the league for revenue according to Kinnear. That puts us 7th then because we aren’t going to be higher than Utd, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea or City. I can’t quite believe that is true.
Re: The Friedkin Group
Americans do that. I work with a few wealthy Americans and they will let you know exactly how they are feeling, when they are feeling it. They don’t wait around for the next scheduled call/meeting.Bluedylan1 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2026 1:23 pm Thought it was very interesting that he said that last season was ultimately a failure, and that the Friedkins viewed it as a failure. Said the Friedkins had been on the blower applying ''appropriate pressure'' to improve. Also no contract discussions so far with Moyes.
Points to Moyes being under pressure unless he starts the season well.
It is refreshing compared with Brits, who generally play a game of “guess if I am happy or not”. But also provides a lot of pressure if you aren’t performing. They will want to know what is going on if things aren’t going well, but will leave you alone if they are happy.
They are also fiercely competitive and will want to beat their other rich mates, namely the other US owners.
Just something Moyes and any manager has to work with.
Re: The Friedkin Group
Would explain why he wasn't used, but hopefully we might see a bit more of him now that he's physically where he needs to be for Premier League footyBluedylan1 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2026 5:06 pm Interesting little tidbit from the Toffee TV Kinnear interview -

Re: The Friedkin Group
Yeah it's bullshit.
Villa's last reported revenue in 2025 was £380m, while Newcastle's revenue was £335m. With the six you named, that's eight clubs that will have comfortably stronger revenue than us in the new reporting period.
Forest, Brighton and Wham had stronger revenues than us in 2025 too, with ours the same as Palace at £196m, putting us at 12th in the table, so actually just outside the bottom third.
With the new deals + stadium in the latest reporting period, I'd expect us to be above these four, in 9th/10th, meaning we've moved up a maximum of 3 positions. Not 'bottom third to top third' at all.
Kinnear's a bullshit artist. I think he rowed back on the happily dissatisfied line because the Friedkins tore him a new arsehole over it and he's now simping for their attention.
Re: The Friedkin Group
Thanks for this. Top 10 is an achievement and so there is clearly a need for him to impress rather than just tell the facts. No one expects us to be above Villa or Newcastle yet in terms of revenue so it’s just an odd thing to lie about.cassius wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2026 6:08 pm Yeah it's bullshit.

Unless of course our revenue has doubled over that time period, which given our on the field performance I would suggest is impossible.
Re: The Friedkin Group
Yeah I think with the TV deal, final league position and European revenue being so dominant, we're unlikely to getting close to that.Gary1878 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2026 6:40 pm Thanks for this. The exact quote was, "Revenue generating capacity has jumped from bottom third to top third in the league."cassius wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2026 6:08 pm Yeah it's bullshit.
