How to play
I will start a prediction thread for every Everton match this season. Post your prediction in the thread and you'll automatically be added to the league whether you start predicting from the 1st match or the 2nd or the 23rd or whenever. There you'll gain points (hopefully) and I'll post updated tables as the season goes on. The prize really is a fancy rank you can laud over everyone else.
If you'd like to spare £5 and play for a grand monetary prize at the end of the season then stick your name in the Prediction League Cash Opt-in Thread where @Lincs Toffee will look after your money until the final results come at the end of the season!
How to post your prediction
Result - Score - First Goalscorer
e.g. Win 2-1 Ndiaye
You can predict an Everton player or opposition player to score. You can also predict OG if you wish.
Points system is as follows:
Correct Result - 5 points
Correct Score - 10 points
Correct Score Margin - 3 points (NEW)
Correct First Goalscorer - 10 points
Bonus: 4 points for any goal scored by your predicted scorer (excluding the first goal)
Subbed Goalscorer - Half Points (NEW)
New rules
Correct Score Margin - If you predict the wrong score but it's the correct margin then you'll score 3 points. E.G. If you predict 3-1 and the score is 2-0 then you'll score 3 points as you correctly predicted a 2 goal difference. If you predict 0-2 however you'll score 0 points. The result has to be correct. The most you can score from a correct score is 10 points, so if you correctly predicted 2-0 then you'd score 10 points rather than 13.
Subbed Goalscorer - If you've predicted Beto to score and he is subbed off for Barry, your predicted goalscorer will switch from Beto to Barry. However, you will only score half points of the usual if the replacement does score.
E.g. Everton win 5-0 Beto, Beto, Barry, Barry Barry
You'll score 14 points because of Beto's goals on the pitch and you'll score an extra 6 points from Barry's goals.
E.g. Everton win 1-0 Barry
You'll score an extra 5 points from Barry being the first goalscorer.
Note: If you predicted a player to score who started on the bench, you won't score any points for the player that they're ultimately subbed on for.
