You've just said another thread that Patterson should have had a loan years ago, played 35 games a season and been atrociously mismanaged yet you want to do the same with Armstrong rather than loan him out. There's not a chance when everyone is fit that he's playing regular football, he's already wasted half of last season hardly playing, everyone knew that would happen and when he did play he was out of position most of the time.

Branthwaite went on loan twice when he was older than Armstrong and people could see back then he was a huge talent, and injuries aside he'll have benefited massively from it.

Armstrong's season will be decided at the end of the window once they know what ths squad is like, if he doesn't go on loan and sits around getting the odd minutes here and there it'll be a disgrace.

Hackney said the PL is tougher, Armstrong looks more than capable, we should keep him and play him to accelerate his developement.

We are very lucky to have one of the best prospects in the country.

I’d keep him. I think he’s good enough to force the manager into giving him decent game time.

He doesn’t need to start every game, but if he could get twenty plus starts I’d say it’s a good season for his development.

100% good enough if he was our only new integration.

I think the 5 of Nørgaard, Garner, Hackney Armstrong and KDH rotated, depending partly on opposition, or injuries etc, is a great way to have him in.

If he won't get the 20 starts, send him to Europe immediately (can't see anyone in the PL taking him at this stage) with guaranteed minutes, and next year he'll be a guaranteed starter for us.

Great to see how he plays with Tyrique and KDH, and Hackney.

It's maybe a bit of a risk to blood all the kids at once unless its a necessity, like yesterday, which was also a bit of a free hit.

I think it depends on if we sign a right back, as I don't think we can give enough minutes to Rohl, Armstrong and Hackney in CM.

Would be a shame to send him out on loan when he looks ready, but Rohl also looks ready, yet both are behind Hackney in the pecking order, and he's probably not first choice to start either.

If we start well and he starts well the shirt is his to lose and if it pushes them all to play better and get on the scoresheet more often to keep their place then so be it.

Only saw MOTD highlights but it felt like a very youthful energy in the team on Saturday. It was nice to have and there didn’t seem to be any fear in the young players either. I think Moyes’ teams can be restrained, cautious, pragmatic- but it looked like there was a bit more ‘go for it’ in the players than usual. Could be new start, excitement, youth or even Moyes’ coaching and instructions for this one but it felt good.

I think the double pivot midfield spots are for Garner, Norgaard, Hackney and Tim.

The CAM spot is KDH with backup from Alcaraz.

If we sell Alcaraz then Armstrong can take that spot whilst providing cover for the pivot too.

However, if we sign an actual RB then I think Rohl gets the KDH backup ahead of Armstrong and we should send him out on loan

Alcaraz should depart this week. I really don't see the point in having him around if we are well stocked in the middle and his contract is running down this season.

Realise some value in him if we can and open up his minutes to Armstrong and Hackney.

I agree with the sentiment, but one of Moyes' blind spots is his loyalty to his generals. Garner comes back in for Armstrong the second he is fully fit (assuming he wasn't 100% on Saturday or he would have started).
Hackney has a chance of keeping Norgaard out for a bit, possibly.
