Listen he gets shots off. I'm v forgiving when it comes to finishing, but what I want really is a striker causing trouble, holding up the ball and getting 3+ shots a game in good positions. He's nearly there with zero game time.

His physical attributes will mean he's always a bit of a nightmare when coming on against tired legs with 20 mins to go. As a defender I'd hate seeing him suddenly come on against me.

You can't start him though, we've tried and just lumbers about the place not closing down and when the ball comes to him it takes him so many touches to try and control the ball that he's still trying 5 minutes after the defender has taken it off him.

His movement and strength for the chance he blazed high and wide shows you he's got the ability to get in on goal if you play the right balls... But, and it's a big but... He only has one shot, which is twat it so hard it either breaks the net or someone's nose on row Z.

It wouldn't be so bad if he was on loan, but we've essentially bought an Ellis Simms replacement with regards output for £25m and are stuck with him for another 3-4 years. Just absolutely horrible business.

I think he's similar to Dom at the moment as far as likelihood of getting something on target, more likely to get difficult chances and/or something from nothing, and he commands his space better with lots of power and balance.

Dom used to be better than he is currently showing, and would be on par under normal circumstances.

Beto links up simple stuff well enough, but it's obviously he's not really used to playing with many players around him, he's a firecracker ready to launch, and go off in any which way.

Dom's better at more intricate play.

Obviously some finesse in finishing wouldn't go astray for Beto.

That we've currently paid nothing for him so far suggests it was a risk worth taking in our financial position, as getting no one in wouldn't have been palatable at all. I wouldn't be suprised to see him returned within the year without cash changing hands if he doesn't make it, or more importantly our financials don't allow it.

Some positives today but can't ignore the fact he missed a glorious chance and a penalty, and the only reason he scores was pure luck because yet again he missed the ball completely with his head and it luckily hit his shoulder and went in.

Yes he scored, but I have zero faith in his ability to do it again.

Battled hard though and even if he can't take down a direct ball in less than 14 touches his presence and determination helped get us up the pitch.

I thought he was good even though he's obviously a poor footballer in the true sense of the word. Doesn't mean he can't be effective though.

Also worth noting that today we actually tried to play football whereas against Crystal Palace we hoofed absolutely anything and everything.

No it's highlighting that he doesn't solve any problems, he missed from close range, missed a penalty and only scored through pure luck and horrible technique.

Well yeah DCL not scoring is a massive issue but he's twice the player Beto is.

But that's not really the point... The goal is great because we actually scored from open play, but fuck me don't look too closely at it as if you do then you realise just how bad his technique was, and that's two headers where he's completely missed the ball with his head now... That shit catches up with you if you expect him to be scoring the goals to keep you up.

His overall workrate and being a general nuisance was good, and his attitude was excellent after he missed a massive chance and then a penalty... So you have to give him credit for keeping his chin up and continuing to battle.

But if that 'header' misses I think everyone on here's talking about the 3 massive chances he's missed and nothing else... So it's just pure luck instead people are praising his performance.

It's worrying, very very worrying because neither him nor DCL it seems are going to score the goals we need to put some distance between us and the bottom 3, and a shocking attempt at a header that flukely goes in off his shoulder instead is going to make me feel any more confident in that statement being wrong.

He was alright today the big man, much better hold up and looked like he grew into it rather than his usual shenanigans of just giving away fouls and being overly aggressive.

The makings of a cult hero in there somewhere and today was a good step forward for him I think.

DCL may be theoretically better than Beto but when does he actually score? If nothing else, playing Beto for a couple games might motivate DCL to play better

Played well. Should've scored 1st half, but showed a lot more of his all round game today. Clearly not ''crap'' or ''rubbish''.

Was just a good performance from a striker in the premier league.

Held it up, but once he broke away with it he made the right choices and showed good quality with his touches.

Showed good character to keep getting himself in the game after that pen miss and was rewarded with a goal.

Personally think he’s showed more than enough in the last few months to show he’s worth persisting with.
