Never thought we'd sign a player that made me wish we'd signed Che Adams instead... But here we are.

Thought he did well.

Have to start DCL now he’s got his goal though.

Looked a bit like he was playing with his welly boots on the wrong feet at times. Still makes a nuisance of himself though but that dive was poor when he could have stayed on his feet and got the ball.

Apart from all the giving away possession and going down in the box when he had the ball in a dangerous position?

You've set a low bar if you think he did well mate, he was bloody terrible.

No I haven’t.

Plenty of occasions where he won the ball high up and moved forward with it to get us in good positions.

He was nowhere near great, but considering what our strikers are asked to do he did well I thought.

Dom had a lot of sloppy touches as well, but he was a lot better than the last few games.

When the ball is pinged to you constantly from 60 yards your touch is going to be off and you’re not going to show the better version of yourself.

I get people want a hill to die on these days but describing a performance that was at best a 3/10 as having 'played well' is very bizarre.

Some of the stuff he did tonight had nothing to do with the tactics, you can't blame Dyche for Beto going down in the box when in a good position or for constantly giving the ball away with atrocious passing attempts, or letting the ball bounce over his foot on the edge of the area instead of controlling what was a very simple ball to control.

The tactics don't help anyone but you can't cover all sins with just blaming that, and Beto was truly awful last night.

You’re the one wanting to die on a hill here.

I’m just calling it as I see it. I can see the positives with the negatives, you just want to see the negatives.

I thought he did well

I’ve seen plenty of 3/10 performances from strikers over the years. That last night was not one of them.

I think their centre halves were probably happy to see him go off last night.

Re: Beto

He was nowhere near as bad as people are making out last night like. We had plenty of bad performances in that first half last night and he was nowhere near the worst offender.

As Ram alludes to we have had tons of striker performances where they have been totally anonymous, this wasn’t Beto last night, he was fighting, chasing after lost causes and generally being a bit of a handful for the Newcastle defence. Yes his touch let him down a few times, but at least he was giving it his all. A few in that first half looked like they were hiding

Feels like some players get criticised for being shite and offer nothing but physicality, and others run about a bit with some hustle and bustle without looking like a footballer and get praised despite being utterly atrocious.

It's all very confusing.

Re: Beto

Away to Newcastle you need your striker to hold up the ball buy your team time with touch and hold up play and ability to get in behind if the opportunity arises Beto can do none of these

Think I'd like to see him running behind the defence onto a ball, and having some opportunities in the box.
