Get him to explain what the fit and proper owners test is for then, or just a mechanism for the PL to pocket some side cash?

This just gets more and more ridiculous. The Premie League is coming across as some bizarre dystopian bureaucracy like the court of chancery in Bleak House.

I think that's it. They can't reject. They csn refuse to permit. Moshiri is entitled to hold on forever waiting for a different answer

He’s correct in what he says..it’s not up to the PL to say no it’s upto 777 moshiri etc to prove they can pass the “test”
The PL don’t “fail them” they just ensure they meet the required standard..if they 777 don’t they keep going back with the correct evidence.
So basically it’s up to moshiri to pull the plug on it not the PL

And thank fuck for that.

What is it you want here?

You understand that the prem can say 'we have received all our clarifications from 777' or they can say 'we have not received sufficient clarification from 777.' that's it. That's the limit of their powers.

I appreciate the role they have in the process, ie all they can do is judge if 777 passes the test. However, the problem here is that it is (or should be, I could be wrong here) also their role to protect the interests of clubs and other stakeholders including fans and not just those of the owners. I don't think it is doing anyone any particular service with a system that basically says you can keep on coming and we can keep on advising ad infinitum.

It leaves us in a situation where Moshiri can keep pursuing 777 and they can keep spinning ther plates while putting the club in more and more debt which really doesn't seem to be in anyone's best interests. Surely there must be a point where the League can say NO to both th ecurrent ad potental owners and force the process to move on? I realise that state sponsored murder does not appear to be a red-line, but there must be one, somewhere?

Of course, all regulation is fraught with danger as far as commercial repercussions are concerned, I'm sure the EPL is worried that increased regulation will put off future investors. But it does appear the League needs more regulation, not less. I'm not sure if they have a review process, being fit and proper today does not make you fit and proper next year. In effect, Moshiri may no longer be a fit and proper owner and his actions could be threatening the future of the club with everyone powerless to act.

I think it normally works because the owner goes and finds someone with money instead. It's an anomaly where someone's offered an extra couple of hundred million of pretend money and the owner is too stupid to move on from the mythical offer.

All the talk on Talksport about this is basically its dead in the water, and we are now facing a very real risk of administration.

Firesale incoming this summer, save for a magical unicorn swooping in and filling Goodison Park with gold.

I hate that this now filling my head instead of being happy to just be in the Prem. I don't know the rules but isn't it the case that (a) Administration has to be applied for by either a director or a creditor and (b) it isn't really in the best interest of the directors (especially the owner) or creditors to put us into Administration? Unless we fuck up with HMRC then the balnce of probabilities is no-one will want to put us into Administration.

Talksport is just the radio equivalent of the Mail or the other rag, keep shouting something loud enough to cause controversy whether there is any truth in it or not. The firesale bit may have some truth in it though

I'm far from convinced there are other offers.

“What is it you want here” eh.? Just read the statement, hardly suggesting I wanted approval is it.
