Re: Manager Merry-Go-Round
Are these managers getting jobs because their contract demands are much lower than an Ancelotti, Tuchel, Poch, Conte, Zidane etc etc?
It makes almost no sense for a club like Bayern to employ someone like Kompany unless his wages are maybe a quarter of a top proven manager.
It feels like they see potential in his philosophy and are willing to take a gamble knowing if it doesn't work out the pay off will be a fraction of what Tuchel will be receiving, and if it works out the wages are more sustainable over the long term.

That is a good decision by him. Has so much credit in the bank at Ipswich, he could have a Rob Edwards plucky relegation season and not be damaged and he is so young in management terms he could come again after a relegation anyway. If he takes a top job and has a nightmare that can wreck a career.
In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream.

Re: Manager Merry-Go-Round
Good decision by McKenna, done fantastic to win back to back promotions for Ipswich and has the potential to do a good job at a higher level.
If he could help Ipswich to avoid relegation or even can get them to be competitive in most games then that would be success and he might then have more experience for a bigger move.

And even if they get relegated, the Bayern job will probably be open.toffee_scot wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 5:10 pm Good decision by McKenna, done fantastic to win back to back promotions for Ipswich and has the potential to do a good job at a higher level.

Fucking hell. I can't see how back to back relegations is what the club needs.
