Ffp is shit. Why shouldn't teams be able to compete with the established elite financially if they are willing to put the money in.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
We don't really have a functioning board or any real decision makers in place at the club, do we, other than Moshiri? So I assume this is Moshiri's decision, when they say ''Everton are backing City''.
As for the ''why'' of it, Moshiri is trying to get out of the club ASAP, so I can't imagine he actually cares either way about any of this, so probably just backing City because he's pissed off with the Prem for the deductions. That'd be my guess.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
I'd imagine it's very hard to sell the club to anyone with genuine ambition when our ffp position means we'd have to sell even if the world's richest man took over.
It suits most for the ffp clampdown not to continue. We saw how the transfer market collapsed in Jan so even the likes of Brighton probably don't want that to continue.
Honestly I think the whole thing is ridiculous. The richest who monopolise all the prizes squabbling over who should win them all and all claiming its them that want fairness and demanding we rise up with them. Why should the rest of us even care if it's city who win the next 10 leagues or they are shared between utd Liverpool and arsenal

Excuse the ignorance but I can’t understand how Everton can be breaching this rule so much whilst only 1 other team breaks the rules.
Have we really spent spent so much more over what we have been bringing in compared to everyone else in the league? Large fan base, good sales ect…
I appreciate how ignorant this post is and how I should know this but I’ve just genuinely never looked deep enough

Lots of sacked managers. Wages were over 90% of our entire turnover at 1 point. Interest on 100s of millions in debt. We've made an absolute mess
Saying all that the way the transfer market in Jan collapsed suggests probably half the league were breaching when the premier league wasn't policing it
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
Is it? Compared to a lower league club yes, but in terms of PL teams we're probably around lower mid-table. The top 6 have got global fanbases 10x the size of ours. We're losing the fight now with the likes of Villa and Newcastle, and are probably on a par with the likes of West Ham. We're now into the second generation of kids growing up with us never winning anything. If anything our fanbase will continue to shrink as older blues die and what would be newer blues choose other teams. I won't force Everton on my daughter. If she chooses to like football then she'll be encouraged to support a team who won't make her miserable.Efcforlife wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 10:18 pm Excuse the ignorance but I can’t understand how Everton can be breaching this rule so much whilst only 1 other team breaks the rules.

Add in the fact that a lot of the fans we have don't spend much at the ground or on merchandise. Matchday spend is limited by the fact its near impossible to get served in the ground, and the quality isn't great. So people stay away until the last minute putting money into other businesses rather than the club. The lack of immediate local alternatives and improved logistics are the big hope of Bramley Moore increasing our revenue.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
Dunno.
We have a 30k waiting list for season tickets after 28 years of winning nothing.
When we get that new ground and hopefully have some relative success we’ll see the fanbase grow.
I see so many young blues at the game.

We are on a par with Newcastle, Villa and West Ham in terms of size of the fanbase. They are big clubs and so are we.
With the new stadium, you can only expect the fanbase to grow. And our social media presence should also grow with it. The opportunity set is enormous.
Kids will want to visit the stadium and become fans. As long as the team remains a PL team and competes well, we will be absolutely fine.

Sales and general matchday revenue aren't overly significant.
£12.m we made the year before last on replica kits:
https://sportsjournal.io/premier-league ... enue-data/
We make just on £600k a home game:

The sales data that hurts us has been our inability to receive income for players we no longer want.

Suits us. We can't afford for the market to stagnate when we need to sell assets. We probably need the wiggle room to avoid more punishments too
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
Sound for Man United to continue to spunk money away though. Completely fair league.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
It's all becoming a massive farce really.

Working a treat
How dare these pesky clubs try and spend some money and do better in the league, they should get back in their place
Plus the top teams can pick up any talent at a knock down price
