Re: England National Team
I'm just a bit indifferent to England. I don't get excited when they score, and I don't get down when they concede.
I'm just watching the Euros from a ''it'll be fun to watch a load of good players and teams'' perspective, and there's some England players included in that.

There’s a Bellingham sized hole in the team tonight, if you’re going to have Kane drop to sit between the CBs and CMs then you need someone more physical than Foden up top

Good job Quansah is on standby, innit.
Not taking Branthwaite will cost Southgate this tournament, the lad is genuinely that good and the other options are that much worse.

You've got a point. I don't rate TAA in the way many do but think it's pretty obvious when you look at the squad Southgate has picked that the only way they're going to win the tournament is essentially some version of all-out attack.Bluedylan1 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 8:07 pm Straight away TAA plays the best pass of the game. Mad not to start him.
I get the sense the only way Southgate really knows is keeping it tight and hope one of your forwards does something off-the-cuff. Won't work with the quality in defence unless Pickford plays a blinder every match.

I get that he's bad defensively. So are all our other defenders. Might as well have someone with game-changing attacking quality in there.Shogun wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 8:11 pm You've got a point. These friendlies mean very little.
Still think they’ll do very well.
Germany and france are the two favourites for me.

I know it's obvious but I just can't see past France. They've got everything, and then more of it in reserve.

It feels like England have one of the top 3 squads but only top 10 first 11
