He probably did lose a bit of pace after that injury but it was pretty obvious that he was never a player that could play in a midfield 2 in the Premier League. Definitely suited to Spanish football.
It'll be interesting to see where he goes from here because it doesn't really feel like he has much of a career left.

Re: Andre Gomes
He did really well for Lyon on loan last season, if memory serves.
It wasn't the injury as much as English football not suiting him, opposition working him out and him not playing in a system that benefited his strengths.

Re: Andre Gomes
I think before the injury he seemed to always have space, even in the tightest situations.
Re: Andre Gomes
His playing style makes him look better than he actually is. Looks like a Rolls Royce on the ball, cool, calm composed, but doesn't achieve anything with the possession.
He's the equivalent of someone in work with a really posh accent who talks a good game in meetings, but never delivers.

Re: Andre Gomes
Elegantly rubbish. The odd good game he had he looked like a rolls Royce who could play for anyone. The reality though was he was consistently a liability. Apart from 1 fluke season at Valencia he's always been the same player. The Doc wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2024 5:40 am His playing style makes him look better than he actually is.
