Think he will change shape more to mirror how we finished the game last night mainly due to worrying about Guehi not being there and not entirely trusting Konsa or whoever it is that comes in at centre back. So move Walker in alongside them like at the last euros to make a back 3, Saka and Palmer in the wide positions, Rice and Mainoo centre mid and Bellingham and Foden behind Kane

Pickford

Walker Stones Konsa

Palmer Mainoo Rice Saka

Foden Bellingham
Kane

Straight swap, Dunk for Guehi, don’t you know you don’t change a winning team…

He won't change anything other than what he has to and hoping Dunk isn't anywhere near that team, Konsa for me

Funny listening to the reaction from the Irish, Scot’s and the like.

Is this what it feels like to be a kopite? No wonder they’re all smug cunts.

Last night was horrible for anyone wanting us to lose. Sorry all.

I find the current England team quite a likable bunch of players and I've said many time's in the past that as a youngster I was a fan and many of their players were heroes to me and I would support the English team, it's the fans and media that are a bit nauseating. We were ridiculed and rightly so for our performance but some of the stuff I've seen recently that's been passed off as "banter" has been pretty disgraceful but I understand we have bellends too. It would be easier to take if England we're playing well but there's a bunch of world class players who've been absolutely rotten and struggled to beat a team 40 places below them yet they're the one's being the smug cunts about it. As long as you have people like Cundy and O'Hara going on the like they do then most people are going to take a dislike to the English, it's not just the Scots and Irish etc that don't like them.

I'd have liked it if they'd lost last night, just like I'd have liked Spain to lose as well, more because I'd like to see an underdog do well, I hope the Swiss win as well but I'm not going to be bothered if England win overall, they should have won a few by now so it's going to come eventually.

Still don't like some of the comments coming out from the players after the games. This is from Bellingham -
''You’re 30 seconds from going home and having to listen to all the rubbish and feeling like you’ve let people down. You know what I mean by the rubbish? Playing for England should be the most proud moment of your career but often it’s quite difficult. There’s a really high intense pressure. The fans expect a lot from us regardless of what happened in recent tournaments years and years ago. People talk a lot. You do have to take it personally a little bit. We work so hard at this game. We come in every day, we work hard to put on a performance for the fans, sometimes it doesn’t go well and sometimes it feels like there’s a bit of a pile on, it’s not nice to hear. But you can always use it and for moments like that, it’s nice to throw it back to some people''
I just feel like it's a fundamental misunderstanding of what is going on, and what some of the criticism has been about.

These lads have been all overwhelmingly praised by fans and media for years and years. They are all massively rewarded financially for their talents, and some of them are viewed as some of the better players in Europe. Nobody (apart from oppositions fans) remotely wants them to fail or underachieve. It's because people know how good they are that people have been disappointed with the performances, and people are right to be be disappointed. They've been garbage in this tournament, and hugely lucky with the draw.

Just feel like there's a real defensiveness and tone-deafness coming out of the England camp, each time one of the players talks. Would be much healthier to say ''we've not played anywhere near our capabilities, we're still in the tournament and we've got another chance to show what we're capable of'' or words to that effect.

The environment around England, the media and the fans is SO much less toxic than it was in the 90s and 2000s, something that Southgate does deserve genuine credit for, but the flipside to that is that these lads are blowing any criticism wildly out of proportion. They should educate themselves as to what the players from previous generations had to put up with, and realise that mild, totally accurate, justified criticism of their performances is absolutely nothing to get so defensive about.

I think that's also indicative of the environment that Southgate has curated for the squad. They don't sound or play like a team of players that are arguably the strongest squad in the whole competition. They sound more like a bunch of 16 year-olds who have travelled across Europe on a school trip for a random football tournament where they're just lucky to be there and if they win a match then they're buzzing.

It's quite infuriating to see and there's a real immaturity in the culture of this squad.

I think Bellingham has come across really poorly this tournament but he’s young so you have to give him some slack.

He has fully believed the hype and i do sense he has disrupted the harmony in the squad somewhat.

Not sure if he's believing the hype, or just feeling the pressure being put on him by people expecting him to be the main man despite him being so young and inexperienced at this level.

I think a lot of how the players are talking after games is a top-down thing. Southgate doesn't want to acknowledge there's any sort of problem and it's almost as if he's trying to exclude any negative talk or criticism of the team. It's always so defensive, mirroring our play tbf, and I'm sure that's filtered through to the players.

I love Bellingham, he went to school up the road from me and they have a massive poster outside wishing him luck, everyone I know who has met him, or spent time with him says he's a genuinely lovely lad. But saying 'who else' after scoring that goal was a proper ego out of control thing to do.

Uefa is investigating England midfielder Jude Bellingham for a gesture he made following his late equaliser against Slovakia in the Euro 2024 last-16 tie on Sunday.

European football's governing body says it is looking into a "potential violation" regarding "the basic rules of decent conduct" by Bellingham.

Bellingham was seen making a crotch-grabbing gesture towards the Slovakian bench after scoring an overhead kick in stoppage time.

The Real Madrid player denied it was aimed at England's opponents, saying on social media that it was an inside-joke directed towards some close friends.

If found guilty, the 21-year-old could face a suspension, a fine or both.

England won 2-1 after extra time to set up a quarter-final meeting with Switzerland on Saturday.

The rule in question is article 11 2b, which requires anyone subject to Uefa regulations to respect the "principles of ethical conduct, loyalty, integrity and sportsmanship."

Anyone whose conduct is "insulting or otherwise violates the basic rules of decent conduct" could be in breach.

Responding to the incident on social media, Bellingham said: "An inside-joke gesture towards some close friends who were at the game.

"Nothing but respect for how that Slovakia team played tonight."

Cristiano Ronaldo was fined but avoided a ban for making a similar gesture while celebrating a goal for Juventus against Atletico Madrid in a Champions League last-16 second leg tie in 2019.

Atletico boss Diego Simeone was also fined for making the gesture during the first leg.

More to follow.

Tbh having a whole fucking Euros advert dedicated to Jude, basically saying the whole country is relying on him....

His first tourny- first proper squad at International level.

After a crazy year for him...

Never learn from mistakes do we (we meaning the countries media)

I camt stand the defensive chatter from the players

And I can't believe they were saying they were good yesterday 😂

When you look at this group of players it's incredible just how much talent we have, yet they look scared to play the game in a way they're very capable of.

I know I've mentioned a few times how I'd love Ancelotti as the next England manager, and how people like to bring out the 'just let them play' line... But fuck me that's what this group needs so badly. To be told to go out and play creatively, to pass and move, to be bold and believe in their endless talent.

Instead they look petrified, nobody moves in to space, nobody passes forwards, hardly anyone takes a player on. That's all on the manager and his instructions.

He might not be telling them to pass sideways and slowly, but he's also not able to make them believe they can do better. It feels a lot like he may well be telling them the right things, but not in a way that inspires and motivates, and then sends them out in a system that compounds the issue.

You'd hope something like the Bellingham moment would be the spark that lights the fire, but it won't be, because we'll see the same system, and all but one of the same players playing the same way again against Switzerland.

Is this squad that good or did we get carried away a bit like we always do?

Our attackers are really strong, but defensively (keeper aside) and the midfield isn't great. I've been really disappointed with Rice, particularly.
