Amadou Onana
Re: Amadou Onana
I suppose ultimately I can see the merit in both arguments even if I disagree with some of the points strongly.
Filing it under is what it is, move on. Hopefully a pacey winger, a RB, and a cm who can ball.

Re: Amadou Onana
If he’s worth at least £60million what does that make Branthwaite worth ? Think at £50 it’s a good piece of buisness and puts our head miles above the PSR water.

Re: Amadou Onana
I just can’t believe the hate he is getting we are better off just getting in older lower level prem midfielders than hearing the he is shite/lazy/can’t tackle for a young player again
Re: Amadou Onana
It's not hate, more of a "I'm not entirely sure what it is that he is bringing to the table week in, week out". He's a talented lad, no doubt about that, but £50m or keep a player who does go missing at times is an absolute no brainer. He's already made it clear that he wants to leave Everton, so grab the £50m and move on. Rather that than have him strolling around the pitch sulking until January. He really does come across as the type who would absolutely stink the place out if he doesn't get his move. We've seen him go missing in games plenty already, so let him go.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2024 3:53 pm I just can’t believe the hate he is getting we are better off just getting in older lower level prem midfielders than hearing the he is shite/lazy/can’t tackle for a young player again

I think you’re mostly making this up because you can’t see the other side of the argument which makes him not as good as you think.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2024 3:53 pm I just can’t believe the hate he is getting we are better off just getting in older lower level prem midfielders than hearing the he is shite/lazy/can’t tackle for a young player again
He’s a good player, nobody is denying that and I think everyone wants a good young player to replace him.
I don’t see much hate flying round, but he’s a frustrating figure which means a lot of fans generally aren’t arsed.
Which is fine as he viewed us as a stepping stone and we bought him to flip for profit.
Both parties will be happy.
Re: Amadou Onana
It's kind of what we all thought when we bought him.
He's shown a few glimpses of the player he can become for us and you only have to see his performances for Belgium to see he's got it in his locker to be a top player.
Right time to shift him though, good deal all round this.

Re: Amadou Onana
Not sure what all the accusations that "he wants to move on" or "he views EFC as a stepping stone" are based on. I don't view him saying that he would like to play CL football some day as him asking out of the side.
Re: Amadou Onana
Villa fans online seemed to have convinced themselves that we're fuming about this and he's a brilliant player they're getting on the cheap. Though tbf, I haven't read GOT and that is a mental place at times, so maybe that's where it comes from.
Re: Amadou Onana
Well he wasn’t getting CL football here anytime soon.
These players join teams like us to move on to better things.
We sign them to make a good profit on them.
Everyone wins.
Re: Amadou Onana
It's strange so many Everton fans are getting animated about a player investment going exactly as we all expected.
