Appreciate that Cass but does not always feel like I do enough.

Anyway, hopefully, today should be a glorious day for England and will bring some much needed joy to this dark world we are living in.

Taking my 9 year old to play his golf tournament at Close House for 3:30pm which should hopefully take my mind off it for most of the afternoon.

Then I'll probably spend a couple of hours convincing myself we're actually going to win it before experiencing the inevitable crushing disappointment of a comfortable Spain win.

I'm getting my toenails removed with plyers then sit down and watch a rerun of the 2005 Champions League final with a nice glass of bleach. 🙂

Shame this is not in December as you can mutter 'Bah Humbug'! to your hearts content.

Probably won't have time or the level of consciousness to make a proper coffee before kickoff, 5am Monday morning. A microwave one will have to do. Could have been 2am though, so will enjoy the sleep in.

Can't wait til they move the Euros to China, play at a decent hour...

Yeah will be watching it at home. Atmospheres at the pub can be more fun but too many people that ruin it these days and with events like this then it brings all sorts of people out the woodwork, so would chill out with a few beers and not surrounded by wankers.

Might even support England

Watching an epic mountain stage at the Tour de France, cook some dinner and then settle in for the game at home with the missus. Looking forward to the game. Think England have a decent chance.

England should be favourites on paper. Of course, in reality they’re not the favourites.

Going to need somebody to put a shift in against Yamal otherwise he’ll tear apart Trippier on that side.

Be surprised if Shaw doesn't start.

Not sure that’s any better! 12 appearances last season and 45 minutes in this tournament so far. Yamal will be licking his lips.

I think they'll start with Trippier, because he's a right footed full back/wing back and that should give him a slight advantage against Yamal's signature move of cutting inside onto his left. Might see Shaw come on in the 2nd half if needed.

In all honesty Yamal has already given better fullbacks than both Shaw and Trippier a very hard time, notably Theo Hernandez who is miles better than both of them. You're going to need to help whoever is there out with either Guehi coming across from the left sided CB position to double up, or maybe Declan Rice covering across.

On a positive note, our LB position has been more defensive in this tournament anyway, so we're not going to lose too much if the left centre back and wing back just focus on defensive duties.

I’m going to watch it at home with a few bottles of Fyne Ales superior stout. It will help me convince my southern missus that I no longer “hate” England and have entered a zen like state of calm where I can enjoy watching England and be happy whatever the result. Each time I do this I die a little inside, alcohol is my refuge, the refuge of a coward.

I’m ok with this. But my father will be cursing me while he watches with St Patrick both wearing sombreros and knocking back sangria. The things we do for love.
