Kalvin Philips On Loan
Re: Kalvin Philips On Loan
Does he even suit the way we play? Looked his best under Bielsa and for better or worse, we're nothing like that. Was awful at West Ham under Moyes last season as well. Guess a loan makes it viable but not convinced by this one at all.

Absolutely unknowable where his head is at or what his level of motivation to come here and graft is.
Even at 80-90% of the highest level he’s performed at, he’d be a huge upgrade. We have plenty of bodies in the middle of the park but not much quality with the ball. Having someone with a decent passing range would help us widen the pitch and stretch opposing defenses out. A good long range passer is a helpful player profile for a risk averse manager like Dyche, kind of like how Moyes teams always went up a level with Arteta or Gibson in the middle.
Then again, Moyes himself, who absolutely loves this sort of player, got nothing out of him last season which takes me back to my initial statement.

If he’s joining then we need him on board before Gaffer day. Otherwise there’s no point of signing him as he wont be ready.

If we can sign Jackie Chan - we should. I know he doesn’t fit our age profile but you do need some old heads in there to learn the youngers.
He would offer so much to our attack and defence it’s a no-brainer. Honestly, give this guy a free kick and he can really hurt you.

Look how well he did with the Karate Kid.
If we can get him and age is not a factor, Bolo Yeung would add some muscle to our midfield too.

Re: Kalvin Philips On Loan
For me if we are going to gamble on Phillips, we need to do it sooner rather than later as I think he will desperately need a pre season. If we do this deadline day it will be a waste of time.

Reckon it will go through soon as Onana leaves - will be a busy week next week now
