Re: Amadou Onana
Half you all sound like people who shit on their significant other who just broke up with them so that it hurts less.
The video is a little over the top but hardly the worse thing a footballer has ever done and nice he's tried to recognize everyone that helped him out at Everton. And the dude is going to be a star.

Re: Amadou Onana
I genuinely didn't think it was remotely over-dramatic video. When I saw the comments about it I thought ''bloody hell, has he turned the waterworks on, and given it the biggun here?''.
Then I watched it and it was just a calm, relatively understated message thanking the fans and the club for helping him to develop. Quite a nice touch, rather than just sneaking out the side door and slagging us off in the media
We obviously all view these things with our biases in place, but I think it's a bit much to criticise it.

It’s just another part of modern football.
I question the sincerity involved in stuff like this but there’s worse ways to leave a football club.

Re: Amadou Onana
The flip side to "shitting on your significant other" is how people get all defensive about two or three pretty mild comments regarding a fairly empty looking gesture of a video, just stick a post on the gram and forget the "Our Tune" background music. Glad he's gone just to get rid of the boring repeat arguments and Jimmy Garner comments.
Doesn't surprise me, it's what young footballers do now but it all just feels a bit empty and forced to me.

Always surprised at how much people take social media content at face value.
It’s all PR guff isn’t it. He’s clearly carefully managed by a lot of people behind the scenes and something like this is very on brand for him.
It’s fine if people see through it and don’t care much for this type of content.

Re: Amadou Onana
It's happened for years I suppose, wasn't it Anichebe meant to send a message to his social media people about what to post on Twitter but he posted it on Twitter by mistake?
Re: Amadou Onana
I think it was just the Khalid/Billie Eilish 'Lovely' background music that instantly got to me. He's only left a football club after 2 years, comes across as really inauthentic. Nice lad overall but loves the attention imo.
Re: Amadou Onana
As we are all jumping on this one, here’s my amateur assessment.
The message was fine, the annunciation was a bit too dramatic, the music choice was the major culprit.

Re: Amadou Onana
Didn't watch as I expect it to be polished social media pr drivel that means nothing to me.
Id rather that than him be an outright cunt but I'm also just happy for him to go and carry on his career, I don't need a video about it.

Re: Amadou Onana
It was more serious than overly dramatic, which is kind of who he is as a young man. He is a bit more serious than most. Yes this is how things are managed these days, but I think he was more sincere than some are giving him credit for.
Music choice didn’t bother me as I didn’t know what it was or the name of it or who sang it. I was more bothered by the canteen noises that seem to be coming from the other side of the hastily erected bedsheet!

Re: Amadou Onana
Sad how this seems to getting such a big reaction from some.
2 years of probably the toughest challenge he's had so far, he obviously wanted to say thank you, it doesn't need to be more deep than that.

Re: Amadou Onana
The video was fine.
Shame he couldn’t stay and develop further as a player here, on the other hand it will be interesting if Emery can get more out of him.
Let’s hope we can get a good replacement to come in and really help strengthen the midfield.
