Germany have still faced their own problems with private ownership.

Quite a lot of teams in Germany are just pawns for big companies over there.

Article provides a little more colour on why TFG may have pulled out.

The owners of Roma, headed by the Texan billionaire Dan Friedkin, were ultimately put off buying Everton because of factors connected to the £200m loaned to the club by 777 Partners during its failed eight-month takeover attempt. The controversial Miami-based investment firm was Moshiri’s dreadful choice to buy Everton before its efforts inevitably collapsed in June. 777 Partners is in financial turmoil and facing a $600m (£464m) lawsuit in a New York district court brought by Leadenhall Capital Partners. Leadenhall accuses 777 of serious fraud and has obtained an injunction preventing 777’s assets, including its investment in Everton, from being disposed of. Until that civil case is resolved, and any outcome could be subject to an appeal, the repayment or renegotiation of that £200m loan represents an obstacle that Friedkin concluded could not be overcome. It could have, for example, repaid a sum to A-Cap, the US insurer which has security on 777’s assets, only for the case to go in Leadenhall’s favour.

Interesting from Kieran Maguire

He claimed: ‘They [The Friedkin Group] formally withdrew from the process on Friday. Now, I’ve got to be honest, this story had been leaked on Tuesday/Wednesday to certain parties but not the football club itself.

‘This is how bad things were, that some people were aware that the deal had collapsed, but Everton hadn’t realised that themselves.

‘I think that’s indicative of just how bad things were between Farhad Moshiri and Friedkin Group.’

Could be next year before the case even gets to court, doubt anyone will want to go near us until that is settled.

So annoying isn't it.

Categorically, without any question the worst possible thing to ever happen to Everton, this man.

100% Usmanov is tied into 777 imo.

I imagine anyone wanting to buy us who gets access to our books will ultimately step away once they see the amount of money laundering going on.

There’s about six different entities with fingers in the pie right now.

It’s a complete mess and I don’t see any serious business people getting involved in this.

I wish TFG could have put the 200M in escrow pending the outcome of the 777 litigation. And farhad can do one with his demand for 50M.

It's so upsetting isn't it.

I can't belive the hate I have inside me towards Moshiri.

The club is ruined.

No excitement for new players. Or the new ground. Nothing.

It's horrid :(
