People will still tell you how likeable martinez was. That's a man who'd shit in your mouth and tell you it's chocolate

Think it was a mix between the 2. We just if you aren't winning and doing well fans don't see games out. Not sure it was directed at Everton fans but in general

Are we policing people you're allowed to like and not like now? Jesus. He comes across as an insecure bellend to me, if he doesn't to others then that's fine.

Dyche isn't Fat Sam or that Fuckweasel Benitez. That's why he gets 2+ seasons, not 2 months. But he has a shelf life. There is no second gear, and his stubborn "old pros" preferences are a death sentence for any notion of a sustainable project. Or a watchable product.

He gets 2 years because he's not benitez. He gets 2 years because he's performed well while we've been an absolute shambles as a club

People are in absolute denial about where we are. Sustainable projects aren't for this everton. Dyche transfered Burnley. They are a better club today and probably for years to come because of him

Sustainable projects are for teams with a right back

I’d celebrate it and be happy we won the trophy but it is effectively the 7th place trophy. They played Fiorentina in the final and who are they. I dunno, I have fond memories of Moyes and I’d have him over the shit show that followed up until Ancelotti but we had many more horrific performances and bad years with him than good ones. I think Moyes has a ceiling which is bobbling about the lower European places not really doing anything and he’s had bad seasons for a West Ham side that have spent some money. I personally like Dyche and think he’s underrated given what he’s had to work with in his managerial career and part of my reasoning is he’s very similar to Moyes and is what we need right now.

I am, however, still angry he started Keane who is a proven liability over someone we payed £20m for and has Ligue un experience. He looked decent in preseason as well. Aside from that the team he put out was what I’d expect given the options and some of them did a few poor things at key moments

No, but it’s just tiresome hearing about how shit he is all the time and how it permeates almost every thread.

Can’t see myself going in another match day thread this season. The site is dying as it is.

Which is why the sustainable project needs to start next season. Patterson MIGHT be our right back. He might fail. But we'll never find out if Dyche stays and keeps trying to reanimate corpses (Young, Coleman) ahead of him.

Dyche has satisfied his remit, given our lousy circumstances. But once we are into BMD, we absolutely have to start having more expectations than fucking Burnley. If not, what exactly is the point?

I still have a soft spot for Moyes but he spent £450m at West Ham. Comparing apples and oranges with Dyche and his time here.

4th best defence in the league last season but Patterson might be our right back if only we get a manager who'll find out.... its not joined up thinking.

We had maybe the best CB pairing in the League. Because we couldn't buy Slabhead (as Dyche wanted), and found out what Branthwaite had. Myko is a very good left back (from a defensive POV). That is indeed a decent beginings of a spine.

Coleman and Young are absolutely finished. I would play whatever other creative solutions we can find instead, because they MIGHT improve. Coleman and Young are already bad, and can only get worse. But that is Dyche's achilles heel - he just can't think that way. He trusts "experience" above all else.

Patterson got a chance and he got injured. What’s the manager supposed to do about that?

No one liked mykolenko under previous managers. We had the same centre backs under the previous manager and didn't have a great defence. Ultimately anything that works is despite dyche and everything that doesn't is because of him

I mean what a crazy thing to say. That we had a great defence just because dyche wasn't allowed to sign players. Yeah he's benefitting from all the great work from previous managers isn't he

No. I am saying Dyche has a particular skillset. He'll make you hard to beat, and frustrating to play against. He is good at getting the most out of a limited pool of players.

But if you give him money, he'll buy "proven veterans" on their way down. He doesn't have a project-builder's vision. Square peg, round hole (starting next season). We absolutely benefitted from not being able to sign Slabhead. 100%. If we had, Branthwaite either deputizes Maguire and Myko - or he gets sold on the cheap. He wasn't buying Slabhead to be an upgraded Michael Keane on the subs bench.

What I don't understand is how anyone is satisfied to play this way basically forever. I'd say 2.5 seasons is a fair interval of taking our medicine.
