At least Begovic is an actual goalkeeper who played 45 matches in the championship last season whereas Lonergan seems like you've just dragged him out the pub to sit on the bench.

He'll probably be coming in as third choice behind Virginia. If Pickford gets injured we've no decent back up to Virginia if something also happens to him. It's a perfectly sensible signing.
