You'd think he'd have more loyalty. Maybe not. Depends on the player I think.

He stops that first goal at the weekend btw and puts mitoma in the spellow early doors.

We’ll miss him. He’ll go onto have a good career from here on in if he can stay fit.

A CB who can't head it and a full back who can't kick it.

If someone could teach him how to head the ball, eg Tark doesn't even jump, but he does have great timing anticipation and strength, he'd be a great Tark replacement in the future, and I'm sure someone will get change out of his abilities.

I do wish we'd have just given him the cb role 5 years ago and let him grow, might have ended up with a decent player, but he's versatile in the sense that he's 4/10 in 3 positions.

This guy is terrible but one thing I hate more than anything about Everton is the constant need for a boo boy who represents all of the clubs ills.

Martina, Iwobi, Maupay, Onana, Keane, Davies, Delph.

He's not signed himself. He's not renewed himself. He's not picking himself. He's a symptom of the clubs illness. And sadly he is the second best LB at the club and probably second best RB.

He's crap but he's not the reason we're crap.

Yep he's terrible but booing him when there's no lack of effort is pointless. We direct our anger in the wrong places

Sounds like Gasparini has seen enough.

Isn't it Dyche getting the boos? Not young

Yep, the boos were more for the substitution of a CF with a LB. Actually, once the change in formation was clear, most around me accepted a change was necessary (Beto was bullied all night) although possibly prefering it done differently. Not sure how many options we had really.

Yeah if Young came on for McNeil then I don’t think there would be boos

We needed a player with experience and determination in a mentally weak squad. We got Tarkowski and Young in partly for those reasons. Not sure any of our squad had played at a higher level than Young, except maybe Gana.

Needed cover in multiple positions in the wide areas: LB, RB, wing, budget didn't allow for new players in all those positions (as well as striker).

Someone who was interested in coming. He'd won the league in Italy and was Man United's club captain. He'd kept himself fit beyond that of his peers. You can see how it made sense.

If not Young, then who else ticked most of those boxes?

I can criticise his performances too, some have been well below par, to very poor, but some he has done OK and filled a gap, like most of our players do, without excelling. I dont like him, havent since his days at Villa. But I can also see that if not him, then who? Or if none, who else would we have had to resort to?

It's hardly worked out, but it's hardly been an abject failure either. And we're not flush with options.

 Imagine if that volley at the end of the game went in!
would Dyche have been held as a tactical genius?
