Re: Summer Transfer Window Discussion
Our options at right back are hideous. Coleman is the only 1 who might be good enough but he's never going to be able to play enough games. Not sure I blame anything but the financial state we've gotten ourselves in though
Re: Summer Transfer Window Discussion
Before the window shuts we absolutely must get another CM in.
An injury to Iroegbunam and our midfield 2 are Wee Jimmy and Idrissa

Absolutely need another body in there.

I'm actually not really sure what we are debating. All I'm suggesting is if you repeatedly make a profit on transfers and repeatedly reduce the wage bill its difficult to improve the overall quality of the squad.
Are you disagreeing?
Yes. There are teams out there that do exactly that regularly.
One of which just pumped us 3-0
Re: Summer Transfer Window Discussion
The team that just pumped us 3-0 spent €170 million and brought in less than 35 so far

Re: Summer Transfer Window Discussion
Are they? Brighton finished 6th sold some players and got the same points as us last season. They've spent a lot of money this summer. Who else. Apart from probably the side with the best scouting who got worse having sold players

Re: Summer Transfer Window Discussion
Also I just said it was difficult not impossible though I think over a long period it becomes more and more difficult
Might as well compare our youth system to barcas if we are comparing our scouting to brightons.
Re: Summer Transfer Window Discussion
Wolves generally turn a profit.
Fulham have made more than they've spent this year and tend not to be in the red by huge amounts on sales each year.
Leicester have made money the last 3 years (counting this one so far)
Even Liverpool, palace and Newcastle have made money so far this year. (Still time for all 3 and us to change that though, obviously)

All I said was it was difficult to get better while turning a profit. Its more fact than opinion. Are you really arguing that its not difficult to sell proven and replace them with unproven and get better

Re: Summer Transfer Window Discussion
Think there’s some confusion over “turning a profit this year” and desperately selling who they can to avoid a points deduction for breaching PSR…
Re: Summer Transfer Window Discussion
Think it will be horses for courses, and he'll play more than Danjuma, perhaps when we're sitting deep away to Brighton, he'll do what McNeil did two games ago, in those pink shirts.Free Agent wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 9:58 am Lindstrom’s the Danjuma replacement. he’ll get as much game time as Arnualt did last year![]()

Re: Summer Transfer Window Discussion
Onana played more minutes than Gueye last year, let’s not pretend he wasn’t an important player.superpull wrote: Nobody is talking about investment or any nonsense.
But Dyche has brought in £46m worth of players that he agreed to and signed off on with the DoF.
It may have been funded by Onana, but that's not fully the point. Even if that was the point - i can't remember, are you somebody who was championing Onana and saying he was instrumental to the team and we are much worse off without him? Or do you think it is no big loss? Because which camp you are in determines whether your argument here is bollocks and defending Dyche for defendings sake or if you have a point.
It can be the case that you can say Dyche has had money to spend (he has and also gets credit for the "wheeling and dealing" we need to stay afloat) and still be willing to justify why he is reluctant to throw them to the sharks straight away.
