Re: Dyche
10th is bloody optimistic when there's a negative investment each window. Keep seeing people talking about progression and taking us forwards while we are selling our best players and desperately trying to cut the wage bill.Shogun wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 1:32 pm Two of our fanbase then. Go to the forums and I'll wager 95%+ don't have us going for Europe. Speak to fans in the real world and it'll be the same. Absolutely nonsense to suggest fans expected Europe.
The optimists had us beating the bottom half teams to 10th and well away from the good teams in the league.
Taking us forwards. Is 4th bottom each year with better finances. That's our forwards. Its fucking awful. Its miserable. Its the worst thing in my week is everton. That's just where we are though

Re: Dyche
Totally agree and when everton don't require that specific job we can see if he can do anything else.
The problem here is everton are fucking crap like Burnley were. Everton have a budget of less than nowt like Burnley had. Least Burnley got to keep their points
Dyche built Burnley to that level. There's a list of who dragged everton down to it. Dyche isn't on that list
Re: Dyche
Absolutely agree!
If anyone thinks I want us to move on from him right now they are sorely mistaken.
Pray for the day but that is not today.
Doesn't change the truth of the matter tho. He's not a builder, he's a maintainer and to do that he needs dogs belly low expectations, hence the narrative he's largely inventing.
Re: Dyche
Doesn't matter is if it's 'bloody optimistic'. That's not the point. The point is that the expectations from this fanbase was absolutely not to qualify for Europe this season. He's said that in bad faith.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 1:42 pm 10th is bloody optimistic when there's a negative investment each window. Re: Dyche
The problem is we spent decades being exactly that. Kenwirght destroyed our club and for a long while we were more than grateful. We were grateful for unsworth and ferguson and numerous coaches who's only qualification was having played for us.
If we'd had this passion as kenwright and then moshiri took our club apart they'd be no dyche to blame anyway
Re: Dyche
He did build at Burnley though, he built them from a championship side in to a European one. Then the investment disappeared and he was left trying to keep them afloat.brap2 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 1:48 pm Absolutely agree!

In this day and age that's about as much of a builder as you can get given most managers last 18 months at best anywhere.

I dont think that's fair. He built Burnley. The football club not the team. They had 70m in the bank when he left. They had a better ground. Better training facilities. A better team than they'd had in decades. He improved then maintained on a budget of nothing. Burnley are a better club today because of him
The problem is everton are still going backwards. He hasn't come here starting with zero. He's come here with 100s of millions of debt. No real owner involvement. Players who no one wants on 100k a week. The club is still going backwards.
There's nothing to be built. It's about survival if we survive then dyche will have done a great job
Re: Dyche
Maybe you're talking about the period inbetween but didn't they spend loads on the likes of Weghorst, Collins and Cornet the season he was taking them down?AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 1:52 pm He did build at Burnley though, he built them from a championship side in to a European one.
