Transfer Deadline Day
Re: Transfer Deadline Day
A player essentially for nothing, replaces Maupay with more of a potential upside. Don't rate the lad but he might grow into something, surprised anyone has an issue with it
Re: Transfer Deadline Day
Considering three months ago Thelwell was warning we had buttons and could not expect significant signings this window has exceeded my expectations by far. Sure we would have liked a right back and a winger but Patterson or Dixon may have a breakthrough through season and we have kept hold of Branthwaite and DCL, not a bad window at all.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day
If it really is no loan fee and no wages it's a decent deal. We get pole position if he does well at a relatively low transfer fee for a young striker.

Transfer Deadline Day
Don’t get the opposition to it. Deal is in our favour, and it was completed at 2am, so obviously a last min call after other deals fell through. Would absolutely prefer to take a sensible punt on this, rather than “go with what we got”
Amazing window from Thelwell in the circumstances, we’ve brought money to satisfy FFP and are stronger on paper than we ended last year with. All whilst working with one hand tied behind his back

Re: Transfer Deadline Day
Problem is two of the strikers are currently injured and two have bad injury records. Looks OK on paper thoughblueforyou wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 7:09 am 1) Pickford

Definitely no loan fee but can’t imagine no wages ? expect we paying at least 50% if not more, still a good deal.MayorFarnham wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 6:44 am If it really is no loan fee and no wages it's a decent deal. Re: Transfer Deadline Day
given our attacking options upfront and current situation - well happy with this
gives us more options
pity we didnt get gnonto in a last minute deal

Re: Transfer Deadline Day
Then, we could rebrand ourselves. We'd no longer be The Toffees, we'd be The Borrowers.blueforyou wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 6:12 am When is a club not a club?
Can you field 11 players all on loan? We could eventually make history: the first club to win a trophy, with a team made up entirely of loan players!

Re: Transfer Deadline Day
Broja could work in our favour or he could spend the season on the treatment table. If he gets fit could he play off Dom. Would like to see how that would go because it didn’t work at all with Beto. It should be Ndiaye playing off whoever is up front anyway probably.
Broja is a no lose for us really.
It’s a weird time for strikers. There are not that many good ones out there and certainly none in our price range. Spurs going for Solanke, Utd haven’t got anything wonderful in Hojlund Havertz at Arsenal and Chelsea with a myriad of average attackers.
