Relegation Battle
Relegation Battle
This looks like being our fourth relegation battle in a row. Must be some sort of record. Any other club ever done that?
I mean, we could sort our shit out and pull away, it's only been 3 games. But most likely it'll be another struggle.

Re: Relegation Battle
Coventry did about 25 on the bounce through the seventies, eighties and into the nineties. We're pups.
Re: Relegation Battle
Bournemouth failed to win any of their first 9 games last season and were comfortably safe.
We started poorly and would have been comfortably safe if not for points deductions.
I get the doom and gloom but it's a long season, and we were bloody great for 85 mins today. Feel like as much as this was a sickening blow we showed we have the players to be ok this year.

Re: Relegation Battle
Our 5 year net spend is comparable to clubs in the bottom half of the Championship. This is what happens when the rug’s pulled on the finances.

Bit early for this but I'm all in. Man United only three points ahead of us, so guess we're all supporting the shite tomorrow!
Re: Relegation Battle
We've got a very good run of fixtures coming up after the Villa game. I expect our position by December to be relatively comfortable - like 2-0 up in the 87th minute comfortable.
Re: Relegation Battle
Yeah my bad, a bit early for this but I needed it in my life, feels like home.

Re: Relegation Battle
Such a weird juxtaposition, play our best game of football in probably months and this is the topic we somehow end up on at the end of it.
I'm trying to pick myself off the floor after that game, but I think it is reasonable to still see some positives. Main concern is getting the defence back in order. It would be nice if 3 other teams decided to be properly crap over a season again too.

Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton are right alongside us. Wolves don't look great either.blueToffee wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 5:42 pm Such a weird juxtaposition, play our best game of football in probably months and this is the topic we somehow end up on at the end of it.

Re: Relegation Battle
One injury away from Ashley Young coming back in to the defence.
Failing to address the full back situation is gonna cost us.
Reckon it's gonna be a big ask to keep players fit.
Another season of doom and gloom unfortunately when I genuinely believed we would have a stress free season this season.

Re: Relegation Battle
Too early for this nonsense, saw plenty in 86 minutes today to say that we should be okay. Played well, probably the best we've been under Dyche, Branthwaite still to come back and a couple of new players still to come in as well.
Long, long way to go yet.

Re: Relegation Battle
35 nil-nils, 35pts should be enough, no?
Things is, I don’t think we can keep a clean sheet at the moment.
