Dyche - HE'S GONE
Re: Dyche
Honestly I don't disagree with what he's said there... tired Vs fresh legs probably helped them get a foot hold, but heads completely went and that's the players and their mentality at fault.
Just look at Tarks exasperation at Keane or Myko (not sure which) after the 3rd for not picking up their man and leaving a free header. It's REALLY basic stuff that everyone just stopped doing, and instead decided to shit the bed.
I think Dyche got it wrong, I think we were so comfortable the players didn't expect a sudden onslaught and didn't know how to react, and I think they collectively lost their heads.
The players HAVE to take some responsibility for that, it's not purely on the manager as even tired legs can compete and not just look around for someone else to do their job for them.

Re: Dyche
Not well thought through that "smell it" comment like. Its admitting you saw it falling apart but didn't do enough to prevent it.
Get it into the players to be snide, there was none of that no time wasting, no going down injured to break it up, no tactical fouls.

I kind of saw it more as that he's seen these players shit the bed before and knows they're prone to this kind of mental collapse. The Doc wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 12:40 pm Not well thought through that "smell it" comment like. Definitely should have changed it still, but it's not the first time we've seen a lot of these players do this kind of thing.
Pickford, Keane, Gana, McNeil, Myko... It's not the first time these players have collectively capitulated.

Re: Dyche
Keane capitulates most games he plays in. Hasn’t stopped him from selecting him every match so far, though.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 12:46 pm I kind of saw it more as that he's seen these players shit the bed before and knows they're prone to this kind of mental collapse.

Re: Dyche
Cometh the fortnight, cometh the manager
Big two weeks: How does the manager approach the players? How do the players respond to the manager's approach?
Cometh the game, cometh the players
Smell it - you get the feel
