Think Friedkin just comes across as more competent, successful and classier.Raptor wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 7:57 am I dont get the hate for Texlor and love for Friedkin, what am i missing?
Yes, Texlor is gobby, but I thought we wanted to move away from an owner that appoints A list manager, like Carlo/Mourinho or sign players that are past their best on huge wages like James/Lukaku etc. Surely there are more benefits for us being linked with the Texlor portfolio of clubs than getting Roma cast offs?

Yeah, I know, just kinda riffing off Trowel's post above.Toddacelli wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 8:43 am Sounds great but unlikely. Textor wants out of Palace because he wants sole control of a club doesn’t he?
Bet Textor would like a piece of Roma though, if Textor had some capacity to control some decision making at a PL club, rather than none (as at Palace despite his investment he's got no say in the decisions as the other investors apparently vote against him).
I honestly don't think he'll be able to sell his Palace shares any time soon, even with all this free publicity he's been getting, so doubt he's going anywhere fast.

Also - if all the other investors are voting against him… is he rubbish? I mean, he’s the outlier, so statistically he probably is.Cods wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 9:02 am Yeah, I know, just kinda riffing off Trowel's post above.

It’s not the case that the other investors are voting against him it’s just that he does not have complete control which he desires, apparently he has received offers from the other investors which are on the table, up to him if he accepts or not, depends on how much he wants Everton.Toddacelli wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 1:14 pm Also - if all the other investors are voting against him… is he rubbish? I've got echoes of Moshiri... He always wanted his own club. Look at what he did to itEscalator wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 1:17 pm It’s not the case that the other investors are voting against him it’s just that he does not have complete control which he desires, apparently he has received offers from the other investors which are on the table, up to him if he accepts or not, depends on how much he wants Everton.

Complete control doesn’t matter if everyone votes the same way as you - you still get your way.Escalator wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 1:17 pm It’s not the case that the other investors are voting against him it’s just that he does not have complete control which he desires, apparently he has received offers from the other investors which are on the table, up to him if he accepts or not, depends on how much he wants Everton.
It’s only if you can’t do what you want that it becomes an issue.

Textor was furious after Crystal Palace’s Chairman Steve Parish voted at a Premier League meeting to ban transfers between related clubs.Escalator wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 1:17 pm It’s not the case that the other investors are voting against him it’s just that he does not have complete control which he desires, apparently he has received offers from the other investors which are on the table, up to him if he accepts or not, depends on how much he wants Everton.
“Textor had apparently told colleagues that he was unaware the issue was even set to be discussed by the Premier League clubs, and he would have argued forcefully for Palace to vote against a ban.”
Crystal Palace are currently in collaboration with Lyon, Botafogo and RWD Molenbeek through Textor’s ownership of those three clubs, with transfers already taking place within that circle.
For example, Jake O’Brien spent a period on loan from Crystal Palace in Belgium with RWD Molenbeek, before securing a €1m (£857,000) move to Lyon back in August 2023.

Always get the sense Textor was just being played by the Palace lot for his money and he wasn't clever enough to realise it.
Re: End of Moshiri - Friedkin Purchase Falls Through
At 45% you'd want some say in the operations wouldn't you, but if he gets some of us, I'd kinda want his say to be restricted to an extent too.

Maybe Palace don't listen to him because he comes out with mad ideas.

Makes sense, doesn’t look like anyone else wants his palace shares so he’ll sell to the other palace dudes at the price he paid for em. No te even gonna bother looking for it as was a dodgy link but someone somewhere mentioned textor and Freidkin buyimg between them. Everton Roma OL Botofogo group would be absolute Baines. But I’d settle for just not having an absolute penis in charge
Re: End of Moshiri - Friedkin Purchase Falls Through
Just seems like a lot of pieces to fall for Textor to actually get it done.
Sell his shares and raise funds from a variety of sources. Can do it simultaneously but think we're still a good 4 months away from this closing with him.
