Re: Dyche
The clear instruction to go even longer in the 2nd half was horrible and incredibly basic. Can't wait til the fella's on his way.
Thank fuck the contract is expiring and new ownership is coming in, so that it's basically a given that he's leaving at the end of the season at the very latest.
The squad's comfortably better than the manager is demonstrating. Must be kinda depressing working for him.

Re: Dyche
I don't particularly agree. I think most struggle with this squad because of our chronic lack of pace. Even if I did agree if Mckenna is going to end up at a top team then we couldn't get him anywayJuanito wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 7:05 am You’ve convinced yourself of that but there is zero evidence. McKenna for example is an incredible coach who has got Ipswich from League 1 to the Prem in 2 years playing good football. He will probably be at a top club next season -
bet he would do a better job with this squad and have us keep the ball more - he might have Mangala in and N’diaye as the 10, who knows, but to say giving this squad to someone else is setting them up to fail is tremendously short sighted and a little too pro Dyche.
I'm not especially pro dyche. I'm pro surviving and not taking risks until we can compete better financially

We can compete better financially the minute the takeover is complete.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 9:19 am I don't particularly agree. It’s time to move on. He’s done the job he was brought in to do, but he’s shown he’s isn’t the man to take us forward.
It’s been a terrible start to the season for him and he’s let himself down massively with his decision making.

Re: Dyche
We can all but dream! Our recruitment team is good and maybe with money to spend in the summer and a progressive coach, we could be going places. McKenna is a great coach but has made poor, expensive summer signings.NickNack wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 7:55 am He might well do a better job but there’s also zero evidence that McKenna would be any good at a top club, or indeed suited to the PL. He’s done brilliantly in the lower leagues but despite Ipswich having something like the 4th or 5th highest overall spend in all of the PL this summer - he’s not doing great this season is he…
McKenna is unlikely but I just wanted someone a bit more progressive than 25% possession Dyche.

Re: Dyche
As soon as we've got the finances to significantly change the squad then I'm happy to move on. I don't think we will have this season or next. Think we'll still be struggling next season given how many we are either going to lose on frees or how to retain despite us not being massively keen on themTheRam wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 10:00 am We can compete better financially the minute the takeover is complete.

I'm not pro dyche though I think he's done a great job. I'm just adverse to the risk. We spent a year or so talking about how the whole club was about to go down the drain. We are on the verge of being comfortable again. Sacking him this season would for me be madness. We'd be risking relegation. Next season may or may not be too soon for me too. I don't know. I just fear going too soon could see us snatch defeat from the jaws of decades of not worries

Pretty much where I am with the manager situation tbh.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 10:29 am As soon as we've got the finances to significantly change the squad then I'm happy to move on. Re: Dyche
When he took over half the people on here preferred to go down paying someone 5m for them 6 months to manage the youth team. We thought we were doomed if we didn't spend money or keep DCL. We did neither and survived. We survived again despite 2 points deductions the following season. He's done a great job. Contributed more than practically anyone since moyes. He's done a great job. It's a shame people can't admit that. It doesn't mean we aren't hopefully close to a time for change

Re: Dyche
Why are you making up in your head that people aren't saying he has done a good job??
Who is saying he hasn't?

Re: Dyche
Squad remains poorly constructed.
Zero pace is going to be an issue for any manager. It's actually insane that we have not one player who can kick the ball by a defender and run past them.
Some big holes to fill this coming summer but we should have money.
Personally think Dyche has done ok, but I'm not a fan of the football and think we'd be better off with someone else come the end of the season.

Re: Dyche
A lot of people are saying he's done an acceptable job, the bare minimum, an ok job... There's definitely plenty who don't want to recognise he's saved us from financial oblivion by keeping us up.Audrey Horne wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 12:18 pm Why are you making up in your head that people aren't saying he has done a good job??

Feels like he never gets much real credit for that because people hate watching the team... Hopefully in time he gets more respect, but that'll not happen until after he's gone imo
