Feels like England missed a trick there

But hey, Carlsey’s beaten the mighty Ireland and Finland, he’s definitely the man to take us forward with amazing results like that!

I watched a great video on FourFourTwo YouTube channel about Carsley and the England DNA project... Made me think he's 100% the right man for the job.

Think we're a long way past appointing the likes of Poch as England manager and I actually agree with how they're bringing coaches and players through at the same time with the same ideology. Actual joined up thinking.

It's been one of the longest managerial sackings in PL history.

It's incredible he's hung on this long... Imagine if they'd just sacked him at the end of the season like they should have, could probably have Tuchel as manager now instead of England snapping him up.

Van Nistelrooy?

I’ve no idea how he’s done so far as manager but why do they keep doing this? You’d think new management would be more creative. It’s like they just asked a fan.

He joined their coaching team in the summer. He did alright at PSV.

This is probably the reason why he joined

Not sure there is a standout candidate for the United job. Nagelsmann maybe?

I will laugh my cock off if it’s Southgate

Giving it to Van Nistelrooy could lead them down the same path as when the gave it to Solskjær. His history with the club will mean they will stick with him longer than is good for them. If they don't make a quick decision on a permenant manager they will be backed into a corner if Van Nistlerooy has a half decent season.

They had not factored in beating City in the cup final which, even when it happened, they should have used as a high to thank him for his service and wish him all the best.

They then got caught up in the euphoria of that result and backed off a decision they had essentially already made.

Take out the obvious elephant in the room of a trophy being involved and it's a decision with Everton written all over it in fairness.
