Esk bored of being called out as wrong all the time on the finances, got to pick something else to slate the club about instead

Esk is a miserable cunt who thrives off negativity. Been wrong enough times to be ignored now.
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
I'm squarely of the opinion:
What is the best we can afford was a better decision than "let's wait till we can afford something better.
Not letting perfect be the enemy of good is solid life advice in a lot of situations. But one a decent chunk of society just can't come to grips with.
NSNO? Well, this was the best available option to use with no real hope of better.
Rail standing immediately wipes out the pride element of a 60k stadium as well

Personally I think the capacity is absolutely fine... I'd rather we sold out every week and had a bit of over demand than have several thousand seats empty every game.
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Yep, supply and demand. A 13k increase isn't insignificant, let's see how that goes first, then evaluate, not build a 70k stadium to only find out it's empty
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
I don't think anyone was expecting 70k but I think in the current era of the PL we'd fill 60k quite easily.
I do agree it's better to have a full stadium than say 85% capacity though.

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
We have the option to increase to 63k and although I think 53k is quite conservative, I agree that I would rather it be full and in demand for every game than struggling to fill it for some of the smaller fixtures.

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
I think it would be wise to have a few thousand seats available for general sale, even if it means a few empty seats in the top row against Bournemouth.
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Think the inevitable considerably above inflationary price increases on both ST’s and single ticket prices will have a certain levelling effect on demand.Gash wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 9:24 am I thought at the time the capacity was about right but I think it's probably too low now. The capacity was probably agreed 6 or 7 years ago but Goodison sells out within about an hour of the tickets going on sale to members on the second day with the new tiered system they have now. When we did the Goodison tour the guy doing it said there's 30k on the ST waiting list and 50k members, obviously there will be a lot of people on the waiting list that won't take up the option but even if only 7-10k take it up, plus the existing ST holders that's probably up to mid 40k, then there's the away allocation there's not going to be a lot of tickets available and they'll probably end up the same as now, unless you're a member you've no chance.
We're like most PL clubs now, we're a tourist attraction to a lot of people who want to experience the "PL brand" and get to a game, I don't know all the figures but I'd guess most PL clubs run at high 90% capacity, even some of the smaller or less well known clubs that yoyo in and out of the league. I don't know how many people have said to me recently "will they fill it", we won't have any trouble filling the ground.

Hope it doesn't feel too sterile.
I remember reading a Liverpudlian poet saying being inside goodison at times feels like the belly of a pirate galleon, with the blue steel beams and low roof and heaving bodies and it's something I love about it.

It is its own special kind of magic. We’ll have to hope we can create a new one at BMD.

It's the people who make the atmosphere, not the vessel.
The fabled Goodison park has been shit (mostly) for years.
