Early Leavers

Post

I don’t think we’re too bad for this compared to other teams but maybe some insight from people that leave the match before the end, what’s the point?

If we’re 2-0 down or worse and it’s in injury time then I get why people leave.

Times like the weekend though when it’s only 0-1, is it really worth leaving 5 minutes early? Aren’t late important goals one of the best things about football?

It's crazy to me.

To beat the rush??

What's the point haha

It's even more crazy when we maybe 1 goal down, possibility to score late.

Would you rather get your car out before the queues or see a late goal at the street end?

Strange tourist behaviour.

Surely people have paid for their ticket they can leave whenever they want.

Pus no one known what other people circumstances are?

Could have kids with them, who are tired, had enough, cold , hungry, need the toilet?
Might have to get a train and not risk missing it?
Might have to be home for a certain time kids / other commitments?
Might have had enough of watching shite football. (most likely option)
Might have parked in the car park next door and don't want to be hemmed in for 30 minutes until the roads reopen.

It's weird.

Also Liam, im saying its shite when there is a chance for a late goal that will alter the game. Why would you leave?

I can never understand people going downstairs 10 minutes before half-time to get a pint, bit sad if they can’t wait until after the game for a beer.

You leave early when there is ten minutes extra time and you train leaves from Lime street in an hour, not strange tourist behaviour, just wanting to get back to London.

That’s sound reason (and I know you travel a long way) but how many does that apply to? Feel like for most people it’s rather habit or just people trying to get to the pub quickly.

If it’s a tight match and you’re not catching a train or another commitment then I’ll never understand it no matter how much we might not look like scoring an equaliser/winner

Usually stay until the end, upped and left when the 3rd Bournemouth goal went in but then so did 90% of the ground. Other than that, it's a three hour drive home, getting away a few minutes early doesn't make any difference to when we get home.

I go the game for a pint with my mates, not the football.

But I sit in the family enclosure now, so don't bother missing 37mins onwards

This annoys me more than anything, not everyone gets to go to games every week, and then you're interrupted and have to get up, miss parts of the game from about minute 35, just cause someone can't wait a few minutes more.
I'm hoping large parts of this will stopped at BMD as the facilities, and queue times will be less, but let's see.

I got down early for a pint and leave early some times.

Sometimes the game is just really grim and you wanna get out of there.

For me in the park end, it takes at least 20 minutes to get out at full time and by then the traffic has already built up and it takes ages to get home on the bus.

Nothing wrong with leaving early, even if it’s just to get the pub quicker.

If you wait until half time to have a pint then you’re missing a good part of the second half anyway.
