I pretty much agree although the bottom three could be joint bottom. I can't really accept Lampard was better than anyone. I had very low expectations of him and he fell well short of them in the end...and was a tory dickhead.

Re: Dyche
Nahhhhh. Hoof it up the pitch and hope for it to fall to one of your players, then hoping that player is unchallenged, then hoping he can also smash it in from 25 yards. That’s the only way to get any points in this leaguebrap2 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 11:23 am Just watching MOTD and seeing all the different types of chances teams serve up for their forwards.
All these crosses across the six yard box. Bournemouth pulling it back onto the pen spot again and again. Wingers and full backs floating balls invitingly across the box for strikers to rise and meet them. Threaded balls in behind. Touch and spin. Take it on your chest and dig.
There's so much more to football than what we're getting.
Re: Dyche
He’s gets in above Rafa and allardyce just because he actually achieved something in keeping us up that season but those three were all terrible.CannockPricey wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 11:33 am I pretty much agree although the bottom three could be joint bottom. The ones above have some redeeming features at least.
I don’t think any of them did a good job in reality.

Re: Dyche
I still struggle to believe his presence in the dugout that year we stayed up was anything above coincidence. I think with no manager and the team picked out of a tombola we'd have stayed up more comfortably than we did.

Re: Dyche
His tactics were shit but I think a mix of his good vibes, Richarlison on fire and incredible fan support created something that when mixed together was just about enough.CannockPricey wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 11:47 am I still struggle to believe his presence in the dugout that year we stayed up was anything above coincidence. Re: Dyche
I think his good vibes extended to "not being Benitez" and that was about it. Anyone of us could have done that role I reckon.

Re: Dyche
Hard to put some of them in order. Think benitez lampard and martinez were all incompetent. Martinez escapes with his reputation because we had a genuinely good team so he could only fall so far. The whole list though is god awful and bloody expensive. We've had some of the highest paid managers in world football
I'd probably have dyche first but for him to stay there he might need to leave soon. Honestly the whole thing is just endless misery

Re: Dyche
Think both lampard and benitez were both lucky here. Performances were worse than the results. We deserved even less than they produced. They both should have relegated us
Re: Dyche
I agree. Maybe N’diaye as the right winger and cutting inside with Patterson pushing on. McNeil/Harrison off the left and a new manager in the dugoutKerryblueboy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 10:36 am We will definitely be bottom 3 by Xmas if we keep playing the way we are and not playing our best players need to get Jared back in the team give Patterson a game at right back keep Mangala in the team and try lindstrom in the 10

Re: Dyche
Carlo above dyche all day for me yeah he had a better squad but at least he got them playing not like this shit
Re: Dyche
The first couple of months was brilliant but the latter part of Ancelotti’s season when we were playing CB’s as full backs was just as dire as it is now. We were horrible to watch then and we’re horrible to watch now.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 1:11 pm Carlo above dyche all day for me yeah he had a better squad but at least he got them playing not like this shit
Re: Dyche
I personally think Allardyce is viewed more for his personality, than his record, and would've done ok, given the opportunity, but he was never going to get that cause of who he is and what people think he represents. I bet the football would be a lot more palatable under Allardyce than it is now, and the results would be better too
