Not to me it wasn’t. We were horrible to watch then and horrible to watch now. Just the results were better then
Dyche - HE'S GONE
Re: Dyche
400 minutes without a shot on target and ironic cheers when Jon Joe kenny broke the duck with a left footed shot straight at the keeper.Raptor wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 1:48 pm I personally think Allardyce is viewed more for his personality, than his record, and would've done ok, given the opportunity, but he was never going to get that cause of who he is and what people think he represents. I bet the football would be a lot more palatable under Allardyce than it is now, and the results would be better too
Lot of revisionism goes on when it comes to Allardyce.
He was terrible and had a much better group of players to work with.
Plus he’s failed at every job he’s had since us.
And he had the same easiest job out the lot of them.

I think I hate that allardyce was our manager more than I hate that Benitez was our manager.

Bit like trying to decide on your favourite war criminal that really.Bob Sacamano wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 3:21 pm I think I hate that allardyce was our manager more than I hate that Benitez was our manager.
In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream.

Re: Dyche
Weren’t we missing James, Richy, DCL and Allen for most part of the second half of the season, plus head turned by Real too.
Re: Dyche
We were missing most if not all of them yeah - he found a way to keep us competitive but it was still horrible to watch (to me anyway).Bluebridge wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 5:32 pm Weren’t we missing James, Richy, DCL and Allen for most part of the second half of the season, plus head turned by Real too.
Re: Dyche
Agree beat for beat with Ram’s list.
Rafa is dead last for sure.
He was already well past being an effective manager and had a bad controlling, dictatorial streak that saw Brands, Digne, and some other staff pushed out for no good reason.
I might put Lampard below Allardyce because of his absolute uselessness setting up a team but Allardyce spent a whole bunch of money on Tosun and Walcott for basically equal levels of performance with DCL and Lennon which was a major and unnecessary financial setback.
I’d put Dyche above Carlo too. Different situations but Dyche has had so little work with and has seen us through a season Lampard started and a season with a points deduction. Don’t think anyone else on the list could’ve managed the obstacles.
Silva should’ve probably been given more time but something was a bit rotten with recruitment there. Not sure how it’s gone so well with the weirdos who run Fulham but power to him.

Re: Dyche
I don't think anyone likes either of them, but I think some see them as necessary medicine and a means to an end.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 3:04 pm I worry about some of our fans liking fat Sam Benitez and dyche one of the national papers today called it football from a different age
There's not a person on earth who'd pick their style of footy.
Re: Dyche
I was at the game on saturday and TBH if it wasn't for the fact i've got family living in bmouth i wouldn't have gone....but sadly after that showing again I'M OUT....cant be arsed travelling that sort of distance again and i get most of my away tickets free gratis !!
Some bad luck during the game i thought but overall it was poor....why he insists/persists on only 2 in midfield totally baffles me particularly against a possession team like soton...he is supposed to be one of these statician managers isn't he? not done yer homework there dychy boy then have you....
Gotta rest tarkowski now... he looks shot...gotta get branthwaite in there now...even keane looks a better player than tarks at he minute...
gana & mangala looks good but need a third man in there with them.....felt for DCL yet again! noticable how Beto got better service then him...because we started playing the ball past their defence yet insisted in playing it into DCL's head/chest with back to goal....
Oh well maybe Dyche will watch the playback of the game and see what everyone else sees before the west ham game....we can only hope...
